Thanks for the update. Let this be a reminder...when leaving your animals in someone else's care...leave a phone number with the neighbors. Gosh, so much could've been avoided if you'd know how to contact the owners. I feel so bad for them and am so glad the shepherd at least had you trying to take care of him. I hope the Chi is okay and doesn't suffer any long term effects (physically or emotionally) from this mistreatment. This "housesitter" doesn't sound like much of a friend. |
It is sick about these dog-sitters  I am glad your neighbors got home and found their Chi...I am sure their "friend" will be x-communicated, at least! |
Friends don't make good sitters. Professional kennels/sitters are way better. Sounds like a bad decision that the dogs had to deal with. The owners didn't know the sitter they chose was such a loser? Not a clue? Hate to put it all on the owners but the responsibility is on THEM. I feel it was just a way to save on boarding fees and the dogs paid the price. Dog doodoo for brains. |
^Since it was so last minute, and it was during an emergency, they probably weren't able to book a kennel on such short notice. and kennels are expensive. Maybe they were tight on cash. We don't know what was going on, and maybe the "friend" was their only choice. Personally, I'd like to think that if I entrusted my baby into the care of my friends they would take care of him. |
I'm glad the neighbors made it back. I figured they knew nothing about the way their dogs were being treated. I just can't imagine leaving my pets with someone and then coming home and learning they were being treated badly. They are very lucky their chihuahua didn't get lost and that the dogs are still alive. I bet they feel sick about leaving their dogs with that "friend". |
Oh thank goodness they are finally home, and the chihuahua wasn't lost. I hope the husband makes the "friend" feel as bad as what the dogs went through:mad: What a moron to think he can treat their home and animals that way, especially since he has to see him again at work. This situation sounds like its straight out of Animal Cops, and every time I watch that show I get extremely mad! |
