What a wonderful hubby you have!! :) My Patrick is that way too ... I am so proud and happy to be his wife! Isn't it odd that they feel it makes them appear "less macho"?? I always tell Patrick that it's a sign of a real man ... and crying at a sad movie also puts them another rung up on their "Man Ladder"!!! :p Congratulations .... you have a real winner!!! :cool:

That was a beautiful story!!! Your husband was so kind and thoughtful to do that for her. That cashier should have been reported! We need more kind people like your husband in the world! :)

Its people like your husband who make the crazy world not seem so bad. . I have a special needs child who is almost 8 but the mentality of about 4, well its hard to keep from crying when people stare and just dont get why he acts the way he does at times because he apears normal people think hes just being a ill behaved child. If everyone could be as warm and loving as your husband was at that time the mothers and caregivers of these special angels would have it so much easier. Thanks from our entire family.

That is one heck of a man you have my dear girl.. :thumbup: that story was so nice to hear, I have done things like that for others too. It makes you feel wonderful inside, especially when they are so thankful for your assistance..

Sorry it has taken so long to reply to everyone. It has been crazy here, with going back to work after the holidays.
Thank you all for your kind comments, I agree he is a pretty special person. I am very proud to stand beside him.

People have gotten so far away what Christmas is really about and when someone does something for others that is wonderful
Me and my kids have always done the Christmas Angels and this year my middle son who is 19 soon to be 20 him and his girlfriend went and picked out an angel theirselves. I was so proud of him and he was Santa Paws this year at the Vet clinic he works at.
So many times we are all about ourselves.

That made me cry! Thank God for kind people like you and your husband. I was nervous at first as I was reading because I thought you were going to say that the mentally challenged girl was the cashier and that's why your husband was angry! My sister and uncle are both mentally challenged and people can be so absolutely cruel that it breaks my heart but this story warms my heart and reminds me that there are still people out there with compassion. Thank you!

I have a good one that happened today. I work at a vet clinic, a client came in to refill her dog's pain meds--while there the Dr was going over an estimate for another client(an elderly lady and her daughter) in the lobby(a Prophy and tumor removal)--I finished up the lady's bill. We talked a little about pet insurance, then I told her to have a good day and went to take of charts--I kinda noticed she was stalling and thought, well-maybe she wanted to ask the Dr something or say hi. When the Dr finished up talking to her and we were all out of the lobby, I guess the lady went up to the other clients and gave them $100 towards their bill. The clients she gave the money too were almost in tears, they were so grateful!! It reminds you that there are angels out there somewhere.

That is priceless...what an earth angel she is.

I LOVE YOUR HUBBY!!!

My daughter worked as care giver in a group home for 4 years. The lady she was with was prob her care giver. You have no idea how your husband might have helped this young lady. Most adults in group homes have to turn over most of the disability monies that they recieve to the home and live on a small allowance. Just a portion of their monies is set asside for groc and personal needs.....and it is not much! A lot of them do not have family or do not have family that help or care about them. He (your hubby) could not have hand picked a better person to help. My daughter loved all of her clients at the home, and she would get so mad when she would take them out shopping (remember this is also supost to be part of their social life) so many people would say rude coments about them and act like if they got to close they would catch something. There were times she would come home from work crying because these things would hurt her clients feelings. If more people were like your hubby....how much nicer the world would be.

He is a pretty special person. He is very loving to children, the elderly and the handicapped. We have a niece that is extremely handicapped that we both adore. I guess we all hope that we will see at least one angel in our lifetime. I am very grateful that I married one. :D
The story about the vet's office is wonderful. I just hope that every one gets to witness or do one act of kindness everyday.
