The Continuing Adventures of a Newbie Yorkiesitter at Christmas
 

(This thread is for Lauren (labrown), Tina and Tbone's mommy, so she can keep up with the adventures of her furbabies while she is away from them.)

Sept. 25, 2007

Our yorkie, Gizmo, had no idea that he was about to receive the best Christmas present he could receive on his first Christmas. :) Playmates! Tbone and Tina were coming to visit from Austin to stay for four days. Yeah!

They arrived about 8:30am. Tina and Tbone looked so cute in their little jammies. They ran around and sniffed each other, explored the house, and had some buddy biscuits that Lauren sent. :thumbup: Those were a hit. ;) Thank you! We also appreciated the new washable pee pad, the catnip toys, the yogurt drops (for Gizmo only), and the book on making creme brulee for me! :D

Gizmo gave Tina a little fuzzy pink purse toy and Tbone a penguin loofa toy. Gizmo was so excited that we decided to put his jammies on him as well, and that slowed him down quite a bit. They all played soccer for awhile, and Tbone got the ball every time! (Gizmo is such an only child! He has to learn to catch up! :rolleyes: )

At about 10am, Tbone started staring out the window and looking a little sad and Tina was wandering around quietly. I think they were looking for their mommy and daddy. So, we decided that it was time for breakfast! ;)

Gizmo went with daddy into the bedroom to eat his, and I fed Tina and Tbone in the kitchen. Tbone (AKA chowhound) went to work and the food was gone in a flash! :p Tina was a little more hesitant, so I hand fed her a few pieces and then she ate almost two thirds of the rest on her own. I felt that was pretty good for her first meal here. :thumbup:

Around 10:45, Gizmo took a nap with daddy and Tina and Tbone slept on the couch beside me. Tbone was curled up at my feet, and Tina was on a fleece blanket beside me.

At about 11:15, the fun started again. Gizmo and Tina love to chase each other, and I was worried at first because he’s about three times her size, but Tina held her own. Tbone grabbed the fuzzy pink purse and was running around everywhere with it daring the others to take it away from him.

Awww...They look so cute....Gizmo is going to be soooo lost when they go home....You know he will need a sibling.....;)

Ooops! That was supposed to be December 25th. :rolleyes:

Everyone is sound asleep. It's so cute! :) We have an automatic air freshener that works on a timer. Every time it sprays it startles Tina and Tbone. I might have to turn it off.

I didn't even notice the date mix-up.

They sound like sweethearts! I can imagine them jumping whenever the freshener goes off! I'm glad things are settling down at your house...now you have time to make your creme brulee, lol! :D

ohhh sounds like lots of fun! Can't wait to hear about the next adventure and see more pics!

Judy, you sound like you all are having so much fun. What a wonderful yorkiesitter you are. I will look forward to further entries.

Thanks so much Judy!!! This thread is AWESOME! We wondered if the pups would settle down enough to nap, glad they did! I am glad they are having a good time together.

We just got to our destination. 8 and a half hours total, it was really cramped. But we are here safe and with family, and we are happy about that!

Hope you have a wonderful evening, I'm sure I'll be checking this out all week! And I'll give you a call tomorrow to see how goes it!

One more thing... Did you look inside the book? I hadn't sent you our christmas card to add to your collection yet, so I hope you found that too! Thanks so much!!!!

The only child with a girlfriend
 

Gizmo is SUCH an only child! We gave him a yogurt drop as a reward for using the pee pad and made sure that Tbone didn't get it. (Tbone doesn't react well to yogurt drops.) Gizmo walked a couple of steps away and then put the yogurt drop down...and wham! Tbone had it! :eek: and LOL! Hopefully, one yogurt drop won't hurt Tbone. (fingers crossed) Everyone's had solid poop so far...knock on wood.

Gizmo also has a girlfriend! ;) Little Miss Tina looooves to give Gizmo kisses! :p She is practically glued to his side. Gizmo is a great sport about it though. ;) Tina is so sweet and quiet you almost think she's this little delicate girl who needs help to do everything, until.... you squeak a toy! :eek: She then goes flying across the room and jumps on the couch! Too funny!

Tbone thinks every toy is his and he collects them and puts them in piles.

They still jump at the air freshener, but not as much now. :)

What a wonderful thing to be doing, Yorkie sitting! Sounds like they are having fun. Labrown-so glad you made it safely to your destination.
