Baby Yorkie eyes not open yet
 
Hello, I am new to this site, and I am trying to find information on my baby yorkies eyes not open yet, she is 13 days old, I read somewhere that it is 8-10 days before the eyes open, she was born a few days early, does this matter? :confused:

2 weeks is average, don't worry they will open.

you may find help in the breeder section.
i have never been lucky enough to have new puppies!!!
Just wanted to Welcome to YT and of course when you have a chance
you have to post pics of those babies!!!!

It's usually closer to 12-14 days. If you look really close you can sometimes see them start to open just a sliver. It'll usually take a few more days after you see it start to open to be opened all the way. But even then they can't see anything.

And please post some pictures when you get a chance, I love baby puppies :)

My pups have opened their eyes from ten to fourteen days. Not quite time to start worrying yet. Would love to see pics of your precious little ones.

i am with you in the eye opening situation! my pups are 8 days old and i absolutely CANNOT wait til they open! im so super excited about it!!:D This is my first litter and im a little over excited about it haha but if you saw how cute they were you would totally understand!

dont worry, they will open, Ive had some open at 15 days and some as early as 9 days. good luck

My babies just recently opened their eyes on day 15 and one had only one eye opened till day 16 when they both opened. Patience they will open when they are ready not too worry.

Hello,And Thanks for the replies, the yorkie I have now was my sister-in-laws, but she passed away a few years ago, so we got Muffy, and this was Muffy's 1st litter, she had 2 pups, but 1 died, and baby Molly was the only one to live, I do have pictures posted, check them out. And Thanks again.

Yeah! Don't worry they will open. Next will be the ears, they are so cute at that age. Ours are 4 weeks now. Ohh how they grow up fast.

I recently read in the breeders section one gal had a little premie and I don't think its eyes opened until day 19 or 20.

My babies took thier time. Rainbow opened hers in 13 days and Beamer waited until day 15.

Me too, I'm so glad Molly made it, they had to work for about 10 minutes to get her to breath, we lost the 1st one, but Molly made it. Karen:)

I think there is nothing more fulfilling then watching a puppy grow from conception thru birth, thru adulthood. I just love Yorkie's and I guess all of God's creatures.... Congratulations on your new puppy......Give her lots of love and kisses....

Well, I had to put Molly in her box so she would stand still long enough to take a picture, she is running :animal37 and climbing the stairs to the couch now, she is so fun to watch. Here she is with her buddy.:yorkiesar :2hearts2: :snow: :snow: :snow: :snow:

Look closer, theres only one baby in the pic, the other is a stuffed toy.
