I lost my little Tigger last year. The image of his death just about brought me to my knees. I could not even consider adopting another baby, the fear of losing one again was just too great. And then came my demented, wonderful, little Mango:animal36. Believe me, I checked her breeder out thoroughly, visited his house 3 times, met Mango's Sire and Dam, watched her develop and grow healthily for a month after I met her, before I was comfortable enough to bring her home with me for the first time. That way, I had the confidence of knowing she was a thriving, normally developing little puppy and it allowed me the peace of mind that I so needed, because I just knew I could not sustain another loss. Perhaps you should consider going this route when you are sufficiently healed - finding a local breeder whose litter you can watch carefully, so that you can adopt a baby with the same confidence I had with Mango.:)
Argh! I just put myself in your head. :sad:I know so much how you are feeling.... that image that you want to banish, but cannot yet:cry8:. Just concentrate on your other furbutts, and the happy picture of what awaits you in the future.
Hugs,:hug60:
