I agree, tip good grooming!!! A lot of ppl don't know that it is acceptable to tip...but for the groomers it is an oh so welcome gift! It truly does offset the costs on top of basic operating bills. Now, if they are a horrible groomer or the cut flat out stinks, then with hold the tip and find a new groomer. |

Hmm..this is a great post! I always tip servers 15-20%, hairdresser usually $5-10, etc. I generally don't tip at self-serve cafe's, etc. (coffee shop) but when it comes to groomers...since I don't have a dog, I can only say what I would do, but I would definately tip a little something maybe even just round it up so if it costs $45 then I would pay $50. I don't know about the "big box" pet stores (if I ever used them) but if I went to a good groomer regularly, I'd probably do $5 tip and then around xmas time give a bigger tip or little prezzie on top of the usual tip. It really depends on the service, the quality of the cut and how they handle the dog... |

I found a tipping page online(for everything), here's on the groomers Pet groomers - Most pet groomers are paid based upon a commission, not a regular salary or hourly wage. Typically your tip should be 15% of the bill or $2 per dog, whichever is greater. If your dog is difficult, then tip more. Obviously, don't tip if the quality is poor. |
