"Fundraiser Puppies" :( I'm not quite sure how I feel about "no name fundrasier puppies"... but... they all need a home.... Found this on petfinder.com ... they're adorable babies... http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=9861686 |
If it's a legit shelter, I don't see what's wrong with it. I think it would be common sense that a purebred toy puppy would have a higher adoption fee than an adult large mixed breed. |
boy they sure are cute:)i hope it is legit. |
I am opposed to animals being used as fundraisers as they are living creatures and not a glass jar. A reputable breeder will want to know where her puppies go and I feel strongly that people should take the time to understand what their breed is like before they purchase. In this case, maybe they are using the wrong verbage and will just be asking for more money than normal (ok with me) but as I looked at this rescue's site they had a hugh number of young dogs. This seems very odd to me as most rescues have a lot of older dogs or ill dogs. A good rescue doesn't use the cuteness of new puppies to raise funds as this one is doing with at least 2 different litters. They have very few older dogs.... |
But they are still super cute. To bad they're not anywhere near me, if not, I would definetly get one. |

Are they going to spay/neuter the puppies at 8wks?! If they are a rescue, shouldn't they know that they aren't helping the puppies by neutering them so early? But makes a higher risk to health issues? I may be mistaken.... |
They are cute but they are going to spay/neuter them at 2 months old????!? Isn't that too young? |
The whole pretense of selling puppies as a fundraiser, just doesn't float well with me. I think if they just said 'purebreed yorkies available for adoption' is enough to spark interest. |
What a poor choice of words, huh? Most rescues charge more for puppies and young adults because they are so adoptable, but it's in poor taste to call them "fundraisers" IMO. |

I don't like their wording, but otherwise I think the ad is okay. It is perfectly fine to alter pups that young, and a good rescue would do so. In fact I think its very irresponsible for any shelter, rescue, or breeder to let their dogs go home unaltered. |
