| ![]() I was debating a little with my mom the other day about this. our two yorkies are only 4 months so they still have most of there black but we can see the other colors coming in, and she thought they color would stay black. Does the color stay black? i didn't think it did i thought it always changed unless it was just me lol. were thinking one will be gray/bluish and the other a light brown. sorry dont know the actual names for the colors lol.

| ![]() There is a great thread pinned to the top of this section that discusses the coat changes as your Yorkie ages. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045 |

| ![]() Yes there coat will most likely change but there are some that do stay darker. I think the best part of yorkies is that they are the only dogs to change to so many different colors before their permanent color comes in. Also some start changing colors at an early age while others are much later to change colors. The head will change to a gold or a tan color unless it stays dark. The body color will change to what they call blue but some will look like a light grey/silver color while others will have the dark blue color and yet some will stay black. I have one of each. Scampers is black and gold, Destiny is tan and a light blue and Brownie is gold and a dark blue. Hope this helps some.
