calling all mommies of more then one yorkie butt!
 

I must say yorkie talk sure is addicting! :rolleyes: ANYWAY i have one baby who is now 6 months old. i've had her for about 4 months now. two weeks after i brought her home and started the dreadful potty training i started yearning for another one!! (they are just as addicting as yorkie talk) while i wouldn't say we have potty training down to a science YET we're getting pretty good at going where the pad is or at least the general area. SO i've been crossing my fingers and holding my breath trying to convince my fiance that BARBIE would LOVE a little brother!! :D i see all the handsome little boys on here and get pretty envious!! haha. i think barbie would really benefit too! having a little brother she'd always have someone to play with! so i guess my first question is what do you guys think? is it too soon to start searching for my little boy? should i wait until barbie is better trained? is their really any difference between the sexes that you've noticed? AND my most important question is HOW DID THE MOMMIES OF MORE THEN ONE YORKIE GET SO LUCKY?! anyone have trouble convincing their significant other to let them get another? if so I NEED ADVICE!! he keeps telling me "not yet" or "a few more months" :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: I THINK I'M READY!!

I think the more the merrier. I have two little boys, and love them to death. I'd say you might as well get another one now, so they can grow up together. This way you get all of the potty training out of the way at one time.

Go for it! We've always had more than one dog, but Ginger and Bernie are the first twosome I've had that is close in age and the same breed. They are the best of buds and play, play, play. If you are going to get a second one, I think getting it now when they will be close in age is a good idea.

I have two girls...the first one was my idea, and the second one was actually his idea! He thought Emma needed a playmate and someone to keep her company, so we started looking around. We wanted another female-I wanted to pee pad train them both, and I didn't want to worry about a boy marking anything in the house. Also, my DH knew I'd dress up my little furbabies...he said if I was going to dress them up and do their hair, then they might as well be girls :)

My two are about 8 months apart in age-Emma was born in March 2006, and we got her Memorial Day weekend. Milli was born in late November 2006, and she came home in February 2007. Emma was potty trained reliably by the time we brought Milli home...I'm not sure, but I think I would have gone crazy trying to train both of them at the same time! At least now when we have an accident, we know who did it! :)

Honestly, I think there are pros and cons to getting them closer and farther apart in age...it will work both ways! Can't wait to see what you decide!

I love watching them all play together and they do keep each other company. Now for convincing your hubby..tell him one for you and one for him..and then we are 4.. good luck..potty training never ends..

I have two Yorkies and wouldn't have it any other way. If I wasn't living in an apt right now I'd probably havea couple more:D They are VERY addictive and so lovable.

We are going through the same delema! I got one and now I want another....and another...anddd annnotthhherrr...hehe. I think 2 is better then 1 twice the yorkie love, twice the yorkie kisses, and twice the yorkie madness!

hahaha seems like everyone so far is in agreement that barbie needs a brother!!! or, i need two yorkies to love!! :D

I got two sisters as the same time and I'm getting a biewer girl in a few months.. My girls are already trained to a pee pad (they came trained! woohoo!) and I plan on training my new girl the same as well... But I definitely want to get all the puppy stuff out of the way at once instead of dealing with regression and not being able to adapt to a new puppy, etc...

I say go for it! lol

If you get a boy, please name him Ken! Pretty please!

I have two girls and they are very close. Bailey is 2 and Angel is 1.
I would never just have one again.
They play and cuddle up together all the time.
Where one goes the other follows. :)

i'd looove a biewer. absolutely LOVE! seems like there aren't any good breeders in my area :confused: i've looked on numerous occasions, asked my vet and even the breeder i bought barbie from. no one knows anyone they can recommend. i've seen one in the paper ad but it seemed sketchy they had QUITE a few breeds

I'm glad you started this thread. I have been on the fence about getting another yorkie for a while now. Reading the other posts helps a lot!
I think I am going to try and rescue one from the houston seizure if the dogs are rewarded to the state of texas tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed for those babies. If not there are some really great rescue groups here to try!

I have two and I adore both of them even though they are giving me a run for my money in the pee pad training department. They are pretty much 100%trained when in their xpen but when let loose they always seem to find a way to mess on my carpet or under the side table, behind the couch etc. Today I finally got my boy a belly band and my girl a diaper. What a difference, should have done that right away. They didn't like it at first but neither one of them messed in them and they loved the freedom after awhile. It's a lot of work but they are so worth it. The two of them adore each other and are such great playmates. My hubby wasn't all too sure at first but once he saw Bear it was game over for him. lol My girls had to accept the fact that the two yorkies are their Christmas present from us. They are okay with that since they know Santa will still come and relatives will still give. Too funny!!!

My two share the same father and their mothers are sisters from the same litter. Thought you might like to see them.

oooh how precious! melted my heart!! i actually haven't tried the diaper thing? so thats working for you? i'm crate training her and when she's in her crate she goes on her pad but when she's running around she will sneak into the silliest places to go potty! gosh that picture is just tooo sweet! i want two yorkies!! NO i NEED two!! :)

I don't know about anyone else's hubby but, mine had no choice in the matter at the time. I said I wanted another one he said no! I said "Bad choice of words" and got another little girl. Then I got Manny, then Tasha, the Lola, then Paris, then Johnny, then Bec'ca and now I still have two of my puppies I'm looking to place.
Now I'm telling myself no more at least not until I find the home I'm looking for to place the puppies in. I would like to get another one later but that will be some time down the road. Terri and the Gang

I have a yorkie and a maltese and I love it. I always felt guilty leaving Benji at home when I had to go to work but now that he has Bella, I don't feel bad. They just play and hang out all day. I think he is happier having her around too.

I started with one yorkie after my Sophie went to the Rainbow Bridge. She will be 3 this spring.
After mom passed, I was so downhearted. Hubby, bless his heart, asked if I would like to get a pair (he got his Christmas bonus early). I said I would love another yorkie pup. We went looking and I saw Titus and fell in love, he suggested we look some more, but that night I cried over that little guy, so the next day we went and got him. Then hubby came home from work and told me that a friend of his had a friend who had some yorkie pups that she was having trouble selling and had reduced the price on the female to $500 and if I wanted her we would go see her.
He is the BEST!
I adore having the 2 pups together, they make me smile when I don't think I have any left and are the only reason I ever laugh anymore. Hubby said it was worth the money to see me laugh again.
I love these little furballs and I love my Lida who is older and gives me lots of love and attention while the pup amuse me and keep me occupied.
I would get 2 pups at once again.

We had Marty for almost 2 years before getting little Madeline...now I would NEVER go back to having just one. They have so much fun together and watching two play is just the cutest thing you will ever see!

you guys make me jealous!!! i actually think i'm getting a little closer! today i asked when will "not yet" ever come? and he said "ATLEAST WAIT UNTIL THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER!" Yup, a boy and a girl! I'm just loving having one of each!

We've only had Maddie for about a month now. They adjusted to each other very quickly. (Another thing you can tell your hubby! LOL) :)

lucky!!! thats what i want... when i decided on barbie i didn't know she was a female (he he) the breeder had two boys and one girl left when i got her and i didn't even care what the sex was. now that i have my girl... i reallllly want a boy. :D

It was the opposite for me. I got my sweet little boy first, then wanted a little girl to dress up! I wanted pink, bows, dresses, and all the girly stuff. LOL! I don't know what I do without either of them now. I really think boy/girl is a good combination.
