Bath Post-Neuter? How soon after neutering can you bathe your dog? Jesse was neutered this past Wednesday, four days ago. He normally gets a bath twice per week. I bathed him the night before the surgery, because I knew that it might be a while before he got another one. He seems fine and is back to his bouncy self. Should I wait until after the stitches are out to bathe him? That would mean 10 days between baths, which would mean a stinky Jesse. |
Yep wait till the stitches are out |
Our vet used disposable stitches....She said not to bathe til the stitches were dissolved.....Took about 7 days.... They were neutered 6 weeks ago... Joyce |
You run the risk of infection if you give him a bath while the stitches are still in. |
bath I just had my daughters dog neutered on the 28th Nov. They told me wait 14 days |
please wait at least 10 days before bathing. |
I'd wait to the stitches were out so the soap doesn't irritate them. |

Thanks, everyone. I've been using the wipes to keep him as fresh as possible. I'm in no rush to bathe him, I'm more concerned about him healing well. Still, once it is safe he will be needing a bath ASAP. |
