Thank God they were honest and returned her! It is SO wonderful to know that there ARE SOME decent people still left in this world! You are very, very lucky that no one snatched her and kept her for good!! A similar thing happened to me last week - only it wasn't my babies that were gone, but I found someone elses - a Maltese. A very LONG story which I still haven't posted on the board about yet, but I need to soo...I have pics and everything. I am just so glad that Bella is back in your arms now, thank God! Give that little sweetie and great big hug for me girl! |
Oh my goodness Lisa!!! My heart sank like a stone when I saw the title to this thread!!! I am so happy for you that your precious Bella is safely home!!!!! What a scare...no wonder you felt like puking. It's so scary to think of what could have happened if that amazing lady had not found her! I am also very protective of my girls when I leave the house, and I have a suggestion for you. They have a pet-door that opens into a dog run on the side of my house that they use to go potty. After losing my little Tigger last year (long story), I actually had a pet-door put in between my house and garage. When I leave the house, my girls both go potty there on their paper. It just makes me feel better that nobody can get to them from outside, they cannot run off through an accidentally left open gate, they are not prey to coyotes/hawks, etc. etc. If your garage is attached to your home, perhaps you should consider this for your own peace of mind? It's also a great way to keep them dry when it rains. Hugs to the both of you after your ordeal, Lauren:ghug: |
Wow how lucky you were to have a caring person to call you! I hope you get the security system you want! |
Thank goodness you got her back; what an angel to be so honest and call you when she found Bella and that she was safe.:angel2dl: I hope you figure out something else for her when you are gone. Too much can happen. We have Hawks and Eagles around here that carry off jackrabbits bigger then my girls. One of my friends about 6 years ago now was working in her garden and her doxie puppy was running around playing in the fenced area of her garden and an Eagle swooped down and took her poor baby right in front of her. That incident has always made me so paranoid about letting them run around. |
 OH...this stuff is happening all over... You have to be so careful when even taking your dog in the car... My girl friend went to a flea market and they left their 2 yorkies in the car with the motor running with the air on... Her husband kept an eye on the car and sure enough he seen some scrufty looking people hanging around his car... He watched them and they made atempt to open his car door.. He hurried right back to his car and asked them what they were doing.. They acted weird and said they were just worried that the dogs were too warm... Yeah right~!! He told them to get away from his car... They truned and hurried away... He got in the car and waited for Bev to get back... I'm sure if the door had been left unlocked they'd had those two dogs... No doubt about it...  Those types are just seeing what they can sell the dogs for and don't know these little dogs are like our kids.... Thank God she escaped from who ever took her and the honest person found her and called you.. |
Wow you truly are lucky she gave your bella back.. Most now adays i think would keep for themselves or try to sell em for a profit. Bless the girl that called you and thank your lucky Yorkie Angels for a safe return... |

Like everyone else has said,my heart just sunk when I seen this thread. But thank God this story ended well. I've just learned two things reading this, #1. Lucy is getting micro chipped. #2. I'm nevering leaving her in the car again.Ever!!!!! She is never ever outside without one of us. We live in the country and I don't ever know what is wondering around out there. As beautiful as all of our babies are,as much as we all love them, someone out there would take them in a second it they thought they could get away with it. Many hugs and kisses to you and Bella, |
OMG:2omg: how scary. I live in Tampa and I was ready to have a heart attack thinking that they're people out there preying on our precious babies. Thank God that you got Bella back. |
I'm so glad you got your baby back. What a scare. |
OMG thank god you got her back. That lady who called you is her guardian angel!! |
OMG I am so sorry to hear about Bella. What a terrible thing to happen. I am so very thankful you got your baby back. Give Bella hugs and kisses from us all. Darlene |
Oh my gosh! I am so happy that Bella is ok! You must have been so shocked! |
What a big scare and how lucky that girl was honest and cared enough to call - we used to have a doggie door for my husbands cockers but I'd rethink it with a yorkie - especially the way the world is now - people are stealing and selling them like drugs now - have you thought of trying to pad train her and close up the doggie door ? I'm re-training my girls right now because I have to move from my house to an apartment soon - it's going pretty good too - the girls seem to know the pads are for when I'm at work - then they go outside when I'm here - |
Oh my gosh, Lisa!!!!!!!! I am JUST now seeing this! I cannot believe Ms. Bella was taken! Thank goodness you got her back and good thing that girl called ASAP and didn't wait! Can you imagine if you had gotten home and NO BELLA?!?!?!?! Maybe you should be super careful about the doggie door idea! IDK It would make me so nervous!!!!!! I'm so glad that girl called you :) |
It makes me so sad to think people just take what they want when they want it and with no guilt or feelings to the pain they are causing others. I am so happy for you that Bella was returned safely to you. That person is a hero by today's standards. Thank heavens Bella was found by her. You are so very lucky. |

I am so thrilled you got Bella back. I hope you hear from this gal - she needs so many thanks. This just scares me. Can you show us a picture of what this collar looks like that you have her tags on? Mine only wear a harness when we go out on a walk, etc. -- but I don't even have tags on the harness. They are chipped - but now you've got me scared. I have always been fearful of the collars - especially getting caught on something when I'm not home. Where did you get this collar? |
OMG   I am just seeing this now..how awful and fearful that has to be, I cannot imagine or put into words how you must have felt..I am so glad you got her back and some one honest is out there...:D |
Oh goodness, I am just seeing this. What a terrible ordeal. I can't believe that such an angel found her and called you. I'm just glad that you got your baby back and she is safe at home with you. |
Oh thank God you got her back. I am so happy for you. :animal-pa |
SOOOOOOO glad Bella was returned safe & sound. Another yorkie angel on the earth like Lewis!!! Thank you to the honest college student who could have easily made some money for the holidays!! |
OMG, when I saw your title I felt sick. Thank goodness you got her back. I'm on my way to help you strangle your daughter! :D Mine have a doggie door too, but I lock them in the house when there is no one at home. They have the kitchen and TV room to stay in. I do worry though that someone will break in and take them. As I'm sure you guys know, the crime rate here is quite bad, so our house is like Fort Knox - we even have a double roof - so many people have been broken into via the roof. We have spanish bars on all windows and security doors on all doors. We have 6 foot walls and spiky wire stuff on top of the walls. Fort Know I tell you, and I still worry. THANK YOU TO THE GIRL WHO GAVE HER BACK TO YOU! |

Thank goodness for the neighbor!! Bella has angels following her!! So do you think the hole is new?? Or was there yesterday and your dd didn't leave the gate open. Hope all goes well at the hospital |
Thank goodness Bella is safe and sound.I don't even want to imagine how scary that must have been for you. |
My heart is pounding right now from reading about Bella's ordeal!!! All I can say is that she definitely had little angels with her!!! Thank goodness an honest person found her!!! Do you know the person's name that found her? (if you could get her name & address...for your eyes only) Then we all could post thank you's to her and you could print and mail to her!!!! God was definitely watching out for Miss Bella!!!! So happy she is home where she belongs!!!!!! |
I will have to ask my neighbor if she remembered the hole. When she went to check on the house the gate was open. My DD remembers not shutting it. It did look like a fresh hole. That lil fur butt!!!! So I am still in the er with my DH. No fracture!! We are waiting for crutches and for him to be splinted. Yipppeee! |
Lost Yorkie Wow! I am so happy to hear that you got your Bella back! I know exactly how it feels to lose a Yorkie. A few months back I lost my little Yorkie named Rosie. My husband had her with him and stepped out of the truck for a few minutes and during that time Rosie must have seen a squirrel or rabbit we believe and managed to get out of the very slightly opened window! We don't think that anyone took her out of the truck. She was lost 20+ miles from our home and in the hills! We put up signs everywhere up and down the surrounding streets and at the vets close by. I went to the Yellow Pages and called numerous vet offices and went to the pound to check for her. She had a dog tag and is microchipped, but no one was calling me. One whole week passed by. It was 8:30pm at night and I got a call from Home Again (Microchip Company). They told me that they had the person who found Rosie on the other line and that she would like to talk to me! We could not believe it!! Rosie was safe and alive!! We immediately drove over to her home and picked up Rosie. Evidently some young children found her and wanted to keep her so they took her tags off. 6 days later their Mom said that they could not keep her. The boys went down to the local high school and gave her to a high school boy who inturn gave her to the woman that ended up reuniting us together!! The woman would not take a reward either. She was so good to Rosie. She washed her and bought her a toy and even had her sleep in her bed with her the one night that she had her. I think that the hardest part for me during the week that I didn't have Rosie was not knowing if she was picked up by a hawk, hurt or actually with someone. I remember always hoping that she was not hurt and that someone just found her and decided to keep her. I do believe that there are more good people out there than bad one's and I am so thankful that the right person found Rosie and Bella!:aimeeyork :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa |
