Hind sight is 20/20 but if you had stuck to that commitment and not gone to see "man" then there wouldn't be an issue at all. I can't say I blame the people you were adopting Turtle and Ducky from if they are upset, I would think after seeing you write that you don't know if you can adopt them that they wouldn't want to rehome them with you.

People can still be your friends without agreeing with your choices or telling you only things you want to hear. I know that my *best* friends are the ones who honestly give me their opinion from the goodness of their heart whether I want to hear it or not.

If I would choose to get defensive about their advice, I'd miss the points they were trying to make.
