| litter box training? I read here that some of you litter box train your puppies. Do you use cat litter? Dont they eat it? My little Chewy used to eat the cat litter that my cat would drag out from her feet. I heard that dogs didnt like to step into things to do their business. I guess this is not true. |

| No you do not use cat litter. The litter are large pellets made of recycled paper. Petco carry everthing you need the litter box, litter and a free DVD to show you how is works and how to train youf pup to use it. Good Luck!

| I have had good results with my dog Tini. She has used the litter since she was born. I was lucky I was able to bring her home and she was already potty trained....she knows to go in the litter box. However, sometimes she does not, but I think that is more due to the fact that she is a Yorkie and sometimes will just do whatever she wants....hahahaha. Anyway, you can check out the website to see more information on the dog litter: http://www.doglitter.com/GetPage.aspx?D=356154 |

| I litter trained Riley and TJ. I do not use the actual dog litter because Riley and TJ wanted to eat it. I use piddle pads. I just put them in the box. Very easy clean up! Litter box training is pretty easy to do, depending on the Yorkie. If anyone has a question, feel free to PM me and I will try to answer it. There are also other members who litter trained their Yorkies. |

| I'm interested in your method for training them... I was thinking of doing the same with my pup when he comes home (litter box but with pad inside)... How did you introduce him to going potty there? Thanks, Tom |

| Avery is 6 months old and I'm having a terrible time trying to housebreak him! To add to that, my four year old Gracie is now going on the floor because HE is! I've been thinking of the dog litter box, too. Maybe that's the answer. How many of you have tried this and it worked???? I hate to go spend the money and have it be a big flop like everything else! |

| I've seen it, but never tried it. It looks like paper cigarette butts.

| I tried it first with the dog litter box & pellets but I couldn't keep him from eating it. Then I went to Walmart and bought a cat litter box with a sifter in it. I put the litter pellets in then put the sifter on top so he couldn't eat the pellets. Today is day four without missing the box once!!!! When he pees it just go down into the litter and when he poops I just pick up the sifter and drop the poop in the toilet so far it is working out GREAT. I tried the peepee pads in the litter box first and he wasn't using it 100% of the time. My husband thought I was nuts using the cat box this way but he's not laughing now. Good luck, Terry Moxie's Mom |
