Why is it bad to brush their coats when Why is it bad to brush their coats when their hair is dry? Also, if you don't bathe them everyday then when would it be ok to brush their hair? |
it breaks the hair. Use a spray in conditioner type. That's what I do when I brush Bella's. |
Thanks for that info... I brushed cody today not knowing he shouldn't be dry. |
Most people never bathe their dogs everyday..Mine get groomed 3-4 times a year. You know, I have a hard time with the brushing wet stuff...I think if they supposedly have hair like us, then why would it have to be damp to brush it..(you could use a spray bottle with water in it to dampen them), but, I brush mine dry... |
Roxy gets a bath once a week on Wed nights. |
what kind of spray conditioner do you guys use? I just use Aussie leave-in conditioner spray |

Mine look horrible and begin to smell after about 7 days.. I can't imagine how it would be after 3 months. But anyway- I always brush mine dry and haven't noticed any breakage. Both their coats are beautiful.. especially when it's clean. :p |

I comb them dry, but I also use Ice on Ice after bathing and about twice before their next shampooing. |

I use the same spray on leave in conditioner I use for myself. Infusium. I hope this isn't bad for him???? But it had worked great for me so far. I have been using it for about 4 mos. |
Buddy Splash by Cloud Star is wonderful. It is filled with natural herbs & oils. I use lavender & mint, but I just found out they have 2 new scents. Af ew squirts of that and it is so easy to brush them or comb them. It's great at getting out matts and keeps from damaging a dry coat www.cloudstar.com -- plus some places carry it |
good thread :) |
I also use the Buddy Wash/Buddy Rinse and Buddy Splash....I love it and Lil' Miss Izzie's coat is nice n shiny and she smells sooooooo purty :D |
