Yeah, assuming Simon's healthy, and I KNOW he's healthy!, I'd try ignoring Hallie as some of the others have suggested. By telling her "It's OK," you're telling her it's OK to be afraid. As hard as it is for a great, caring Yorkie mama like yourself, ignore her. |
I agree with the others that you have Simon's hacking checked -- it may be something medical. As far as Hallie's fright is concerned -- I'm not a dog behaviorist -- but what about when this happens picking both your babies up and holding them together on your lap -- showing Hallie that her brother is OK and letting her check him out? That way, maybe Simon will actually reasure her. I dunno -- it's worth a try. You may also mention to yout vet Hallie's reaction. Good luck with them both! |
I would pet Simon and then go to Hallie and let her smell you and then comfort her. I hope you get it figured out..What is hacking btw? |
Any updates? I hope things are getting better. |

Poor babies! I can only imagine how hard this is for you. |
Simon is totally healthy :) So let's all put our minds at ease. I saw the vet today and he is concerned with Hallie's vision. Her hearing is fine but her vision is questionable so he gave me some at home tests to do with her. Getting her to follow favorite toys, treats, etc. I'll keep everyone updated. |
