Petsmart in Killeen If you go to the petsmart I think you go to  in Killeen , they do require written proof of their shots being up to date especially the rabies;) That is where I have taken my dogs for their grooming:confused: and they always ask. |

we require proof of all shots and rabies for ANY dog to come through for anything at our groom shop. It's a liability if we don't and something were to happen. I keep my guy's tags on a keyring in my purse so they are always with me. That, and I have no patience for those huge tags and much less changing them from collar to collar for 6 different dogs everyday (my dogs combined have well over 100 collars haha). But it is smart of them to do that. They have to watch out for themselves, the other dogs they are tending to, as well as your dog's safety. It's really not a big deal at all. |
Two weeks ago I took Pixie in to Petsmart for her training Class. We had a Coupon to try the Nail trim There. So I used it. When I went in she asked for her Papers??? I was Like WTF I have her tag right here. " No Mam we need her papers" HUH? I agree they should be UTD but I Will NOT carry papers ON me at all times! Well because I was there for class the Trainer came in a told her I was ok that she had seen the papers :) I was not happy that they made a Huge deal out of this. But I did get her nails done for free and she did a good Job. and got a great tip ;) ( BTW they never knew I had a coupon till I went up front to pay.) |

My groomer made me bring in shot records the first time I went to her. I was impressed. |

I was at petsmart 3 weeks ago for Rockies nails to be clipped and they ask the same question about his papers. They should ask for the papers only when the pups are getting groomed I thought ?. Well ,I told the clerk Rockie was only there for his nail clipping and she said ok. I do not know if thats the same policy at all petsmarts; but I will be checking today. :yorkiesar |

i walked out of a grooming place that didn't ask for or require vaccine papers on dogs. I don't want to leave morgan there if the other dogs there do not have proof of rabies, distemper and bordatella. distemper and bordatella are spread thru respiratory secretions and rabies is spread thru saliva and biting. it only takes once sneeze of an infected dog (who may not be showing signs of sickness) for morgan to get sick, even if she's just in there for 5 minutes getting her nails trimmed. now i don't get morgan the bordatella vaccine so i do her grooming myself. its just not safe to leave pets are boarding or grooming facilities if they do not ask for proof of vaccination. Its a huge liability for them, more should ask for vaccine proof if they want to save their butts. |

I have mine vaccinated not just for their protection but for mine as well. Someone mentioned to me one day and it has stuck with me. I know my babies don't have any viruses or would I take them anywhere they would be in danger. I don't think they would but if ever they would bite someone, I don't want the risk of losing them just because I can't prove they are vaccinated. People will sue for anything these days, and one of the consequences of them not being vaccinated is losing your dog. That's something I not willing to risk. |
