What is the youngest a pup should go to a new home?? I just really wanted to know. I know my breeder wouldn't let my lil girl go at 8weeks to fly. I have a friend who just brought a pup on a spare of a dime tonight and it is flying on Sat at 8 weeks old. Maybe I am wrong. Just a question |

Wow! 8 weeks is young. Normally most breeders don't let their pups go until 12 weeks. To have a dog fly, it has to be vet checked first. I've read that alot of vets don't give the OK to ship a dog under 12 weeks. I guess every vet and breeder is different. |
I think the standard is 12 weeks. I think 8 weeks old is way too young to fly, but then I would never want my puppy on a flight unless they were in the cabin with me, regardless of how old they are. Just my opinion |
I have kept all mine until 12 weeks except one that I let go at 10 weeks to a very expereinced yorkie mama. I am considering letting the litter I have now go at 11 weeks to help my clients out because of airfaares being so expensive this time of year. Eight weeks is too young to leave it's mother, much less fly. . |
I have been thinking the SAME thing with all this. My friend had a dog in mind for 1400.00 then once I told her how I got Roxy she went to those means found a dog in less than a min while I was on the phone with her and brought it. I was like OMG and they are flying him at 8 weeks and 2 days old. She isnt getting yorkie and didnt use my breeder. She is getting a king charles cav. She was also saying there are tee-cup one's. I told here there is no such thing as a tee-cup even in a yorkie. I feel like I am banging my head up against the wall. I hope the poor baby will be ok with the flight. Once she called them today at 3pm he will be here on Sat at 12 noon. I know it took me time to buy a dog and check everything out. :eek: :questione :questione :eek: |

8 weeks is too young to leave the mother. Some have gotten them that young and had no problems, but IMO, why risk it? Most reputable breeders will not release the pups until 12 weeks of age...sometimes longer. |
I know I know. I purchased Roxy at 14 weeks on and she didnt come to me till 16 weeks old due to the hot summer. I know it just didnt sound right to buy a pup at 8 weeks. Now she is telling me that she is working on Sunday with her Husband to Be to earn X money for their wedding and have no one to watch the pup. What the F*&% did you buy it already for? I am at a lost of words. Anyone know anything about this breed? I know I didnt know the most about Roxy but ( I researched) they already purchased him and brought a dog book on this breed reading me nasty sexual thing. I hate people like this. She was just talking about how great this dog is and pure bread. Sorry to vent this girl has to do everything I do. |

Saw this on the Available Puppies Link: This is a gorgeous teacup baby boy who is to die for. He is so loving and playful and has such expression in everything he does. He loves to cuddle right up on your lap for his naptime and is great with children and our 2 cats. He is small and should mature around 10-12 lbs. OMG...a 10-12lb teacup??? I don't know about you, but I sure have never seen a teacup big enough for a 10-12lb dog to fit in! LOL How dumb is that??? Anyway, aren't cavaliers supposed to be about that big or slightly bigger? You asked who knows the breed, and I know Layla's Mom has two cavaliers. You might PM her and she might be able to give you more info about them |

hey well while most people say 12 weeks and i too would recommend it, my yogi flew to me at 10 and my roxie will be coming at 10 as well. id personally say no earlier than 8 and even that is stretching it. If the vet approves then id have no problem going at 9 or 10 but 8 just seems a bit early. either way your pup has a great home to look forward to be it at 8 weeks or 12 and just make sure you get it to the vet for a checkup asap and get all the shots needed as early as the vet allows them. 8 may be a bit early but i think you will be fine as long as you take every step to keep your yorkie healthy just remember in the future if you decide to buy another baby that you may want to wait longer. good luck! |
