As if someone actually did this!! I've read threads on here before about random strangers wanting to hold your furbaby, but this one tops the cake for me! I was at the bank today and I couldn't believe what the teller actually did. When she saw Mocha, she just said "Let me see him!"...so I bring him a little closer so that she could pet him, thinking that's what she wanted. Then she started leaning closer and I could see that she was trying to get him out of my arms so that she could hold him! I backed away, thinking she would get the message, but she actually leaned over the counter even more and litterally just took him right out of my arms  She didn't even ask "Can I hold him?" or anything like that...the only thing she ever said to me was "Let me see him!". I was so stunned that I didn't even know what to do  I wanted to say something, but I was afraid that she might get angry and mess with my account or something. I would never ever in a million years just grab a stranger's pet out of their arms like that! Don't people have any manners?? Ok, I'm done venting....I just thought if anyone could relate, it would be you guys  |
i would have screamed at her Plus she can not mess your your account or she will be fired ! |

That really was rude of her. You could bring it to the bank manager's attention. |
oh my I can't even imagine someone doing that... I just tell people my Toby bites ...hehehehe after that they don't really wanna pet him ;) |
Well, I certainly understand how you feel on that one. However, I for one DONT allow anyone that I dont know to hold Meka. Its my dog... period! If asked, I would kindly let them know my dog is still a pup in training & gets too excited with other people.... thats always a good excuse. Or if your a little more blunt like me... you can just say that you dont allow others to hold your pup, but they can pet him all they like. :) If you dont tell them, you cant expect them to know. We cant expect others to have the same moral values |

The training thing is a good idea, I think I will try that next time. I usually don't have a problem with being blunt if I'm dealing with somebody whose way out of line. But the fact that she had access to my account information, I didn't really want to risk making a big scene...kind of like how I would never complain or say anything bad to anybody whose handling my food (who knows what they would do to it?) :p Quote:

How incredibly rude - some people dont understand - I always compare them to babies - would you let someone touch or pick up your baby????? Its the same thing with my dog - you dont know whats going on in someones mind or if they are sick or something...... |
Aww that's so cute how Maddie protects her mommy! Mocha is really friendly with everybody, so wouldn't really back away from people, although sometimes I wish he would with certain people :p Quote:

lol sometimes I want to tell people that, or say that he doesn't like strangers. But Mocha's really friendly with just about anybody, so they would know that I'm totally lying  Quote:

Omigosh! I can't believe a teller would do that! AT WORK TOO!!! You would have thought she'd was taught customer service :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown |
Years ago my mom was at a drive up bank teller and our yorkie was in the car. The teller actually wanted my mom to put the dog in the drawer that is used to pass money, etc. and forth. Too funny! Of course my mom said no. |
Sounds pretty normal now-a-days Whenever Peanut goes anywhere with us it never fails that someone will try to pick him up noy just reach out to pet him but pick him up drives us crazy and Peanut he is very picky with who picks him up Sometimes the wonderful Yorkie puts people in a state of dumbness!!!:animal-pa |
I posted about this not long ago, i'm trying to learn how to handle over enthuisiastic people when out and about with pixie and it is difficult sometimes as people can take you by surprise. I had one lady bending down to stroke her and before i knew what was happening she had slipped her hand under her body and lifted her up into her arms! I nearly fainted:eek: and was petrified she would be dropped! I have now learnt that if anyone coming towards us looks interested, pick her up first before they get the chance to! Just to add, in your case you were already holding her when she was wrenched out of you arms! thats just TOO cheeky! |
