I have chipped many Yorkies of all ages, and at most all they feel is momentary pain. Some act like they don't feel it at all, and others do seem to be in pain for the moment. Much depends on how fast and accurate you are....after it's done, they don't seem to remember it at all. Not all vets, shelters, etc. have the chip readers, and not all have the same brand reader. But I feel it's still a good thing. |
did you all see the original date on this thread?? 4-22-2004!!! It must have been one of the earliest YT threads!!! It's always amazing to me to see one of these old threads tatooing a dog - icky, course I think the same thing about humans  |
Both ours are chipped. I think tattooing would be painful. Sometimes I feel like doing collars, chips, tattoos, GPS. Anything that would bring them back home...:p |
Chipped would be my vote, but Chewy was chipped while he was under so he wouldnt feel it. my vet says it is more painful then people think and if you can do it while they get fixed or get their teeth cleaned it is much kinder... I am going to do the same with Sadie. |
