Welcome to YT! Can't someone baby sit them instead? There's many ppl here from Georgia. I hope you can find someone, i can never leave my babies in a kennel. Mine will be here with me and the fam. Good luck! |
One of the things I hate most about kennels is all their strange rules - can't pick up on Sunday is so common & one more way they get you for money. I have only boarded the yorkies twice - both times when I was traveling. The kennel we went charged an extra half-day fee anytime you didn't pick up the dogs until 1 pm or later -- well, guess what time they opened on Sunday?? Yep, 1 pm - so automatically they got an extra halfday payment. I would ask first, if the answer is yes you can bring them, you can skip the kennel & if it's no, at least you have a back up. I was suppose to be in Atlanta for Thanksgiving, but that didn't happen and I'm so sad. Enjoy your day with family |
We've only boarded once, when we went to disney, they have a kennel right outside the park, i guess it's not really boarding... we came to see her twice during the day to play with her and take her for a walk and such... she got to meet a few other Yorkies that she played with while we were there... i would hate to have to go w/o her for long, i left for a weekend (my mom kept her) and i was missing her so so much i hope your thanksgiving is as joyful as it can (considering) and i would ask if your yorkies are welcome... you never know!! |
Since we had a new litter 3 weeks ago, we went out for a quick bite. In past years, we took team furry with us.... Welcome to YT; maybe next year will be better. |
Luckily, I am a at home petsitter along with the groomer I work with. haha So if I have to go out of town and I can't take my dogs (which rarely do I not take them wherever I go) I send them to her house. Or their Godmomma or Grandparents house since they all live in town. haha I would never under any circumstance kennel my dogs anywhere that wasn't in home with someone I know. I hear too many horror stories and have to shave down way too many dogs after having their very upset owners bringing them to us after kenneling them and seeing house whoever took care of them just didn't ever take a brush to their coats. And it's just not fair for them to spend 24/7 in a crate. Maybe my guys are overly spoiled, but I am very firmly anti-kennels. lol |
