Anyone want to PUPPYSIT for me??? Getting my new lil girl today at 1:20pm and my hubby wants to go to his parents for thanksgiving day  (His parent's house is an hour away) well I'm not going to leave my new lil girl in the house all day and I really don't want to bring her to a sitter because I don't want to scare her...by the way she is 4 months....so what should I do should I bring her into the madness of thankgiving at my mother n laws (lots of people, lots of noise, lots of kids  ) or should I bring her to a sitter which maybe she may be more comfortable at being she will be around other dogs. Umm I'm so confused..Maybe I should just bring her and when I see people are starting to get on her nerves I will just go and give her piece of mind and put her in the room? Any suggestions..... |
I'd take her along and also bring her sleeping crate so she can have some down/nap time in a quiet room when things get too hectic. |
Bringing her and her kennel with so she has a place to go when things get overwhelming seems like a good idea. Congrats on your new baby! His parents wouldn't mind a tiny yorkie baby hanging out with the family, would they? |
I took Pixie to a large family get together at my nanna's flat a few weeks back, lots of people and 4 small children...i took her travel crate and hid it down the side of my chair..luckily pixie slept the whole time!! and the children barely knew she was there! she woke up after the younger children had gone home thankfully! i would take her in her crate and maybe put her in a quiet room and check on her often. |
OH so you did get your little girl already, how exciting. :D Yes I agree I would bring her and bring her bed and crate with you. You could even bring a carrier and carry her in that while you are in the house. Thats what I do with Mia - when there are tons of people around I carry her in my little messenger bag and it rests right up against me and she is totally happy since she is close. :p |
Thanks you guys for the comments I REALLYYYYYY apprieciate it!! I will go ahead and take her and bring her crate and things....hopefully she will be sleep most of the time ;) |
I would take her. This way she get use to everything. Congrats on your new fur baby. Take a crate that way she can go in there when like a zoo :D she will be fine |
If I were there I would puppy sit for you! |
Definately take her. I am getting my new puppy today at the airport and I plan on taking him with us tommorrow to the parents house for Thanksgiving. Make sure and take her crate so ther is a safe comfy place for her after all of the excitement. Being around all the people and excitement is good socialization for her. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!! |

bring your baby and her kennel or carrier and let her meet the people... if she needs to "get away from it all" she can retreat to ther "home" ... That is what we will be doing ... and we are all going to enjoy ourselves ... so have a happy day!!! |
I agree you should take her. When I first got Kalina the breeder told me to introduce her to as many people as possible the first few months. This, of course, means gentle people and children, not the other kind. I think I took her to meet so many people and I handed her to them and let them hold her, etc. Well, she loves everybody. So take her and enjoy her, but give her some time to herself too. Napping is very important to a puppy. Have fun! |
