How does your furbabies tell you when they have to potty? Just wondering how you know when your furbabies have to potty? Buddy tries so hard to talk to us. He will stand in front of us and make this really cute growling/mumbling sound!!!! It sounds just like he is trying to talk!!! It is the funniest thing ever!!! He will keep doing it over & over again until we let him out to potty. |
Layla hits a bell hanging from the door knob... works like a charm! |
Marty walks up to the door, puts his little nose in as close to the crack as he can, and sniffs VERY loudly. It's so cute. He just randomly did it one day and now he does it all the time. Maddie "tells" us. She's very vocal. They are both so adorable! :) |
skoshi goes to the door when he needs to go out and kiele is learning! |

Tilly sniffs at the door and spins. If we dont see her she will run back and forth. :) |
Maddie paws my leg and make the grumbling/growling sound!! :D Sophie does nothing...lol...I just have to take her out every couple hours...she's a stubborn little butt! Mikayla and Brooklyn are still learning... |
Ahh that Is so cute!!! Bella has double doggie doors. One gets her to the lanai and another one on the pool screen gets her to the grass. She can fly thru them like some agility trial!! Especially if she thinks she is in trouble or steals something. She likes to steal and shred napkins!! Lil turkey. |

Gizmo uses a bell on the door, he caught on quick!!! but the thing is he likes to ring the bell and then play outside which we can never tell if he wants to play or potty... it is cute but sometimes aggravating when he comes in and then turns around and goes back out to play |

Brody will go to the front door and pace between there and his pen. If it's number 2, he'll hop up and down on his back legs in his pen. It's almost like he's trying to hold on to the sides for support. LOL |
I get the stare. They both will come sit in front of me and just stare at me. Minnie will then sit pretty/ begging and Mickey gets to shaking, they wont take their eyes off me. and I say gotta go pee ? and they both run to the door. |
Sawyer runs and hits a brass planter I have by the door, as we have tile floors, it gets really loud.;) |
Alyssa goes and stands at the front door. When I notice her I will say "let's go potty." She immediately runs to the back door to go outside. Emmy is just learning to communicate. I take her out about every 2 hours when I am home. When I am gone she uses the potty pad. She has not learned to communicate when she needs to go. |
We have poochie bells. This works great, especially when we are upstairs, we can hear the bells ringing:thumbup: :) |
Well mine are all different, first I have a doggie door, but if it is closed with weather or at night.... One goes to the door, so I need to see him,,he is good but makes no sounds..he knows how to paw at the food dish when it is empty though, go figure.. One that goes out the door door well, but when it is closed, she will go if I am not paying attention.. One whines to go out, always was great, will wake us in the night if need be and will not let up..I wish they all were like that...lol Then I have one that is in training, goes outside to pp a pretty good now..but will still have accidents...but many times go pp out side then comes in a poops on the kitchen carpet..we need to work on the more.. So I have my computer close by the door, makes it easier.. pooh's mum |
Deiter runs and pounces on my chest. And when we are sleeping he gives kisses. Cozmo he does nothing. You just have to take him out. |
If London is on the bed she will bark to get down to pee or poop. Sophie will scratch on the side of the bed, but sometimes she has gone on the bed:eek: Teddy will just jump down. They are all paper trained. |

LOL, still waiting for that day, still a baby. but he is good with the pads |
Cody comes and stares at me... Or i will watch him and when he starts pacing all over the house i know it's time! |
Elphaba is not quite 4 months old...about 3 weeks ago I put a bell hanging from a string on the front door. Every time I took her outside I made her ring the bell. Within three days she was doing it on her own. Thats at the front door. She'll also scratch at the backdoor. If I'm sitting at the kitchen table and dont notice it right away she'll give a little yelp and look at me. If I'm in the family room and didn't notice her at the back door, she runs to the front door and rings her bell...then she runs back to the back door. And when she just wants to be outside she rings the front bell a LOT.....like every 5 minutes! But since she's telling me...every time she wants to go out we go out! I'm trying to teach her she doesnt necessarily go out the door she ASKS...but we also go outside when she asks. |
Rosi will sit in front of me making these grunting noises and sits up or holds 1 leg up ! Apollo starts talking and throwing his head around and does this Tapdance with his front legs :D |
I wish Jeanie would tell me......she doesn't ever tell us she has to Potty. We just take her out when she usually goes. She's got a real routine. But I think the reason she doesn't tell us is that we have always picked her up and taken her into the pen that she goes in. If she was just "let outside" I think it would be different. Nonetheless, she doesn't have accidents.....so I guess she just waits till we put her out. Funny though....... ????? |
Koda will come up to us and tell us in his high pitch voice. then run to the door and sit there. |
