Another neighbors' story--What are they thinking? I know that this is nothing like Figment and Molly but I have another neighbor story. I have a 5 foot chainlink fence that has locks on all entry ways so no body can come in and take my dogs. Anyways, I have a rescued beagle who was an escape artist so I put patio bricks under each entry way so he could not dig out. He hasn't escaped in over 2 years so it worked. I was cleaning out the garage today and the back door of it is right next to one of the gates. I started to hear "you can do it--come on baby--come to me." and "do you want a treat?" I peek out of the garage and it was my neighbor and her daugther (Not a young daugther--about 25 years old). They had cheese and were trying to get my new yorkie/maltese puppy to slide under the fence!!!!!! I came out and was like "What are you doing?? You are going to teach him how to get out? Let alone get snoopy (my beagle) back in the habit to dig!!!" They said they wanted to see the puppy and I told them all they had to do was ask. They didn't understand why I was so upset--Hello...I don't want my dogs getting out and risk them getting hit by a car or taken!?!?!? Well, that was yesterday and guess what? I caught Snoopy and Jacks trying to get out today (neighbor were calling them over again!!!)--now I have to break both of them from it--again. I just don't know what to say to them because I am so mad and I don't want to start a big feud. Monica |
I would seriously do some a** chewing if I were you. That is not right. I hate to say this but my dogs are everything to me, I would knock some one out if they were doing this. That is not cool what so ever, Are you sure that they werent trying to take your pup?? I mean, it happens. |
OMG!!! I would have been very pi**ed!!!!! THAT IS B.S.!!!!!!!! How do you know that they just "wanted to see your dogs?" They could have stolen them! Next time they did it, I'd threaten to call the cops!!!! But then again, after the second time, I would have showed up with a baseball bat to let them know that I meant business. I'd be damned if someone was trying to bait my dogs out of my yard!!!!!!!      |
Wow! You sure make me thankful for the good neighbors I have. That is totally unbelievable. I can understand wanting to see the puppy, but that is utterly rediculous. :eyebrow2: |
ThIS JUST TOTALLY PI**ES ME OFF!!  :thumbdown :thumbdown   |
People are really stupid, there is no other explanation. Another example of something stupid: I was holding Chewy in a store the other day and a man came up to us, very close and barked at Chewy. it freaked him out and he starting squirming, I almost dropped him. I did dress him down and told him he was an idiot, but Chewy could have gotten hurt. People don't think and People do stupid things. |
The second time they did it--I had just gotten out of the shower and was not properly dressed  so I couldn't go running out there. I don't think they would take him but I am going to talk to them tomorrow again and tell them they need to stop or I will call the cops for "endangering" my dogs. My pups are everything to me as well and it took everything for me to not go off and smack them. They know my pups ar my babies and they saw how upset I was when I lost my yorkie at 8 months to a liver shunt problem. THEY MAKE ME SO MAD.     |
Oh boy, that is really awful!! I don't blame you for being upset. How close are you to these people and how well do you know them. Sounds like you're gonna have to talk to them. Good luck! |
Well after talking to them the first time, they might just keep doing it, but I would be very serious about calling the cops. SOME PEOPLE!!!!! |
OMG! Thats terrible :thumbdown |
I have been leaving here for 6 years and know them somewhat--I am pretty much a "keep-to-yourself" kinda person with the neighbors--mainly because they are nosy--like when the moving van came to get my ex's stuff out--there were at least 3 neighbors coming by seeing what was up--I don't know them well enough to share personal stuff. The funny thing is that just last week I was thinking of giving them a key just in case I got locked out or something. I feel like they would now come into my house and mess with the dogs. My key is now going to my friend who lives a couple of blocks away :D I will let you know how the talk goes tomorrow. Monica |
Minca- I don't blame you for being upset! What are they going to do when/if something happens to your babies??? Ask them if they are going to take responsibility then! |
Just be carefull with your furbabies, you might think they wouldn't take them but there friend might. I am not non trusting, but when it comes to my furbabies, thats a whole other story. |
The thing with non-pet people is that they simply just don't understand what we go through to keep our pets safe. You can yell out to a toddler and they can comprehend it. A dog can too, but sometimes the fact that they are set "free" could hinder their "command comprehension". I notice that a lot of people do things that they think are "funny" and they don't understand that our dogs can get really hurt in the process of their "humour". Your neighbours really need to be set straight and understand that the safety of your dogs is of the utmost importance and if they do anything to jeopardize it, they will be held accountable for it. |
That's terrible! If I were you, I would start saving up for a tall wood fence so no one can see in and get any stupid ideas. |
