I don't understand how people can make comments like that. You're right, it's not often that random strangers go up to a mom or dad and tell them that their child or baby looks like an alien lol. Some things should just be kept to yourself. Quote:

Alex you are so right! Some people's ignorance amazes me. In this world we are all different and so are our furbabies... I also hate the mini questions or the teacup questions...I feel like i have to go back and correct all of these misconceptions. I can't believe someone would actually say "she's so cute, but not $700 cute!" :mad: It's sad how people can casually spend more than that on a flat screen TV or a cell phone, but when it comes to a pet, an actual life, people think that price range is ridiculous. I'm Vietnamese, and I wouldn't dare tell other Vietnamese people how much my Mocha really cost. I've told some people that I only paid half of what I really did, and they were already in shock...I think if I told them his real price, they would have a heart attack! For some reason, a lot of Vietnamese people don't believe in spending more than $100 on a dog. Quote:

I had a lady call my little Sass a wimp and a man call her a rat. :mad: They both had large dogs and seemed to think they were just so funny. I actually had a trick-or-treater ask us how much we paid for her. |
I get asked this all the time, and I just say "not as much as he's worth to me", and they usually drop it. |

I have had a few people ask before. It is rude. And when I was selling my puppy that she had, it made me feel weird to tell them how much I was asking just because of that. I think people know they are good dogs and they know they are expensive so I don't know why they even have to ask. I do daycare and one of my moms was interested in the puppy and she was trying to talk her husband into letting her buy him. He had just bought a German Shepherd puppy so he would have trampled my little guy anyway. But she wanted him so bad. So anyway, he said he only paid $200 on the internet for his dog. Then after a few weeks when I told him I sold the puppy, I was just telling him. I wasn't saying it to be weird or anything. His comment was, "Well, if that's the kind of dog you are looking for." I thought that remark was rude and uncalled for. He could have just said, "Well, that is good." You know? lol |
Well, I guess this might not apply to me since I have a Morkie(obviously less-expensive)...but thats a whole new set of drama. Anyways! People most often ask me how much he was because he's so cute. I usually just give them the breeders website and tell them the prices are listed there. Then I don't have to look them in the face when they find out. lol. I love my baby boy and would have paid much more for him if I needed too. :) |

I get asked how much Duffy costs ALL the time. I just say ALOT. If they persist in knowing the amount, I tell them $2,500.00 and he is worth every penny of it to me. Usually they then ask if I am going to breed him and I tell them no, he is already fixed. I didn't buy him for that. I had someone this morning tell me he looks like a rat and I gave her a look that she understood because she said "I only meant his size is like a rat, nothing bad". I really wanted to smack her but I restrained myself. Some people have no clue as to when to keep their opinions to themselves. |
