| Smoky the war dog Lost my place, but Whispersmom mentioned Smoky the war hero.......if you don't know the story, it is a very heartwarming true story of a yorkie who was in the war. Here are some photos I have. Well worth looking up!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Smokey is also on Animal Planet and other animal related shows - it's so good to see shows and rememberance for such a brave yorkie. There are great articles if anyone just types Smokey war and yorkie - it's worth reading - thanks for reminding me of her |

| Did you know that this article about Smokey is what started me thinking about getting a yorkie? I was with the kids at the pet store killing time while the were looking at everything in the store, when I found the magazine with this story about Smokey.

| When I was 15 I saved my allowance and bought my first Yorkie. I named him Smoky after I had read so much about the hero Smoky. |

| That is too cute! Now I'm even MORE proud than I was before to own a yorkie. But I haven't read the story, what exactly did Smokey do in the war? Not that it matters because that dog is toooo adorable. But just curious.

| I do believe his uniform is in a museum, right? I have not looked any of this up--just doing it from memory (Okay, Villette, don't you even go there!) so that last part could be incorrect..Also, I think that was the same uniform the Yorkie was modelling on a Yorkie calender last year.. |
