I don't necessarily agree with this (and I'm no expert, just giving my opinion). Tina was a runt of a litter (3 lbs at 2 years old), and that means that she was starved and neglected in the womb, and was just lucky enough and coddled enough to make it. And all of her health problems have stemmed from being a runt. I think it is best to find a smaller (NEVER smaller than 4 lbs!!) set of parents that are having a two or three pup litter.
JMHO, and in no way a hostile argument against you, Wylie's Mom, because I  MARCEL AND WOULD TRADE ANYTIME!! (ok maybe not trade but babysit!!!) | How DARE you get "hostile", so rude!! LOL. You are too sweet. Marcel sends licks and kisses.
I hear what you're saying. Had I written my original reply better, I would have worded it differently. What I was really trying to say was be careful of breeders who say "we breed teacups and micro-tinies!" - that kind of thing. In other words, be careful about from whom you buy a tiny. And, if you do buy a tiny from a "normal" litter, you should really talk at length to the breeder as to the health of that runt from day one (and hopefully get the truth). Bc you are 100% correct, LaBrown, they can starve in the womb - not always - but they def. can. Btw, I'm really glad you stressed "never less than 4 pounds!" in your comment about "smaller" parents, bc that's great advice to give poeple who are interested in "tinies" (a major red flag to watch for in breeders).
I like the way you "argue" - now if everyone were just that way....sigh....:D |
