He just looks shaved to me.

Looks like the dog had some sort of problem and they shaved down the hair to the skin.

Also how did they come up with the handy dandy price of $1395.

Wow so they are trying to capitalize on a disease that a dog is afflicted with. Can people get any worse and disgusting in this lifetime. Never mind not breeding this dog further and not creating anymore of these babies. They are trying to see if they can take this mutation (no offense to the baby) and make him some sort of hip and trendy purchase.

God help us when there are scumbags like that running around.

I have no idea how they can sleep at night. Who knows what other host of health problems that might arise that some poor unsuspecting person will get. First off they get taken thinking they are getting some rare breed, then they get a host of dr's bills to deal with whatever can come of this condition then the final will be god forbid the dog suffering from some other health condition seeing as the breeder doesn't seem to have any scruples. Poor mamma, poor baby and poor poor unsuspecting future owner that is just looking for a baby to love.

This condition is called "Color dilution aloplecia". I saw one on a website someone posted here and the website claimed it was a Chocolate. NOT, NOT,
NOT!

The dog I am refering to IS NOT A CHOCOLATE, it is just like the puppy she linked to above, but the person on the website I was refering to either THINKS a dog she has with this color dilution aloplecia is chocolate or knows it isn't and ....................

I know chocolates are not hairless...I was poking fun at the fact that someone would try and say that it was the case and that is why the dog was rare and not actually have something wrong with it.

I cannot believe the AKC is allowing this. I currently have a litter of 3 of these puppies. While a couple of the pictures may depict color dilution alopecia, the third picture is without a doubt a puppy with hypotrichosis. In the last 2 weeks I have researched just about everything available on this disease, and YES, it is a disease. It is a disease that is carried by the females and passed on generally to the males. Females normally have full coats, while most males will be born with the alopecia. According to my vet, who says this is rare and has been doing research for me also, there are other health problems these puppies may have or develop. First, the hairless spots will NEVER develop hair and the skin must be carefully watched for exposure to sun and cold. Unless proper care is given to the skin for exposure, the puppies can develop sores which can become not only infected but quite odorous as well. Some puppies are born without claws and may never develop their teeth. I am currently in the process of reporting this breeder to the ACA, which is where my female is registered.

People PLEASE don't buy these puppies. If you promised to give one a good home and take proper care of the "bald" spots, I would gladly GIVE you one!! We are not breeders, and can't possibly keep 5 dogs. I know, everyone wants to see pictures, I have tried and tried and cannot figure out how to upload my pictures to the computer to post or e-mail them. I admit, I'm a true dummy when it comes to this stuff. What I would do if you are truly interested, serious inquiries only, is do it the old fashioned way and mail you pictures. I can't do this for hundreds of people though, so if you are only curious about their looks, please don't ask.

Can't someone please tell us how to stop these people?
