biting the hand that feeds you my yorkie is teething but he is visiously (playfully of course) biting my hands instead of his toys. what in the world can i do to teach him not to bite hands and feet? |
I have heard that if you make a loud high pitched squeal when they do it, they do not like the sound and will stop. I have actually tried this w/Autumn and she does not like it. Give it a try you have nothing to lose (except a finger or two LOL:D ) Good luck! |

Zoey bit our feet until they practically bled. We stopped her with a spray bottle full of water. We only had to spray her a couple of times. Then you could just show it to her and she would stop. She still tries to bite my feet sometimes when she gets really excited. I just set the spray bottle on the counter where she can see it and she stops immediately. |
We use the water bottle too, and now all we have to do is take it out, and they stop. |
I use... I rub my hands and arms with Apple cider Vinegar with mother. You can buy this at health food stores/ not GNC. |

You can try [1] ignoring him for 10-20 seconds each time he bites too hard, [2] using something icky like bitter apple spray on your fingers/toes (this can also come in handy to spray anything else he shouldn't chew) [3] saying ouch! really loud, oooor [4] trading your poor abused digits for a chew toy instead. Socialization couldn't hurt either, playing with other pups is how they best learn to have a "soft mouth". |
