sod training vs puppy litter HELP I'm getting my new puppy tomorrow and am wondering which would be better at training him on. And what good tips are there to remember when training them for this? |
All of mine go out, so I'm not sure, but I'll bump this up for you. |
Mine goes outdoors because we didn't want problems with confusion about going in the house. However, as with many other posts I have read here, ours does not like wet grass or rain. So we do get "accidents" in the house when it is raining, etc. Also, it would depend on where you live and if there is sufficient grass. We stayed in Minneapolis in a downtown hotel once, and ours did not know what to do because there was no grass.;) |
I guess it depends on what's easier for you. My baby does everything on the pads and refuses to do anything outside. Now, we're moving and he'll have to be re-trained to go outside. So I'm stressing here. |
We go outside, mine would tear up potty pads. |
Mine go outside. Loki is totally trained, Sammy tries her best but if you don't take her out first thing in the morning she won't wait for you. And by first thing I mean when they get up, not when I get up! HA! But they are good about dancing on my head to tell me. I let them out, feed them, and they go right back to sleep (we all do on the weekends.) The rest of the day she is fine and goes outside no problem. True, they don't like the rain. You just can't give in. I go stand on the porch and let them go in the mulch near the porch if they want. Loki puts 2 feet on the sidewalk, 1 in the grass and lifts the other one. So he only puts 1 foot in wet grass. They figure it out if you don't give in! Snow is no biggie, we just clear a spot in the yard. They like the snow. |
