Another Potty Training Plee for help! Good Morning All! Cappy is now almost 2 years old. Here's my dilemma....(same as almost everyone elses...) He still pees and poops in the house!!! So much so that we lost our security deposit on our last rental because of him! I love him to death and would just be so happy if he would train! We take him out all the time, tell him to go pee and poop, and he does! But without hesitation, he will pee & poop inside too...no warning, no wining to go out, nothing, just squats or lifts his leg when and whereever he pleases. I don't want to have to keep a belly band on him all the time...but we've just built a brand new house, new furniture and everything, and we can't have him peeing in our new wood floors and rugs and ruining everything..he's already cost us TONS of money! Any suggestions would be SOOO appreciated! He;s just spoiled rotten, I love him so much but we need to train him... |
I should mention that we crate him during the day or he comes to work with me and rarely has any accidents....he sleeps with us at night and usually doesn't get up, though last night he did...right around 4am, peed on my rug and then pooped on the wood floor...uggghhhh |
Known several here, that keep a leash on them, and keep it tied to their pants till they get trained. Easier to catch them circling to do the poop dance, or trying to pee on something. I just got rid of all the carpet in my home because of Venus....put ceramic down...she's now 14 months old, and still goes on pee pads. I was hoping for outside, but that just ain't happening. Some bell train. Hang a bell on the door you go out...teach them to ring the bell when they want to go out. I tired that, but Venus will ring it, when she wants to go out and play. Still pottying on the pads. Older dog, Adonis, does all his business outside. He's 6 years old. You'd think she would too...but suppose I haven't worked hard enough on that. Even bathroom rugs....she'll pee on. So all mine still put up, as well as the rug that used to be in front of my sink. |
I'd try the bell training, and taking him out more often for longer periods of times. |
