Another stupid question from me. hi everyone, im needing all your great advice again please. we are getting ready to start training mickey and bella to go potty outside. what im not sure about is we are going to be using harnesses as their little necks are so fragile. my problem is, do you keep the harnesses on all day so when they need to go potty we can just clip their leads on and run down the stair with them or do you just put harnesses on when their going out but then they might not be able to wait while we faff about getting them ready. |
If you're taking them for walks I'd keep it on them, so they don't have to wait to go out, but if you're bringing them in a fenced yard I wouldn't put it on at all. The only problem is I believe the harnesses can break their hair if there not silk. |
While training I always left the harness on until bedtime at night. It made it easier to grab them up and take them outside. I never had a problem with the breakage on the hair. Good luck in your potty training. Takes time, patience and consistency. |
thankyou all for the advice. i dont have my own yard so will just leave the harness on all day and take it off at night. thank you so much, i worry about doing the best for my babies:) |
I have a tie -out right outside my side door that I use for Lexie. I fasten the tie-out leash to her collar. The tie-out rope is long enough that she doesn't pull on it and I have not had a problem, she has enough length that it doesn't pull on her neck at all. Now when I am taking her out for a walk or to the store, I ALWAYS use the harnesses on her. |
