My male yorkie (1yrs) doesn't let me know when he has to go anymore Hi, I am new to this site. here's some breif history, I have 2 yorkies, i have always had yorkies since I can remember. One is a 10 yr old female, 2.5 lbs and the other is a 1 yr old male, 10 lbs. both pure bred..i do not promote crossed breeds/mixes. anyway... i made a strong effort to train my male when i got him last november, it was hardwork, but it paid off...rarely an accident in my home ever and i know its tough, but i do leave him in the cage when i am out because not only is he bigtime chewer, but its unsafe for him to roam around freely. About 2 weeks ago i was out of town for two days and had my mother watch him for me. ever since then, he does not let me know when he has to go out..he urinates ALL OVER my bed more than once...he does #2 wherever he pleases. I walk him every morning around 9am, then again at1pm then 5 pm then 10 pm... his schedule has not changed..he did. I am at a loss and i find me putting him in the cage more than ever because he really has become a problem. i know that all my yorkies in the past have urinated once here and there, but he used to never..he was amazing. any advice PLEASE?????? thanks so much :) |
he is angry with you for leaving him. did your mother have a different schedule than you did? you may have to retrain him. (as much of a pain as that might be). it seems like he is giving the "alpha" behaviour. he may also be sick and you not know since you say it is happening whenever, wherever. i wish you luck in figuring this out |

Good luck with him! |
Dogs do not have the same attitude as humans.........such as angry for being left.......or getting back and so on. You need to start the training all over from scratch, or he will never be totally trained. If any of the accidents were not caused from sickness and diarrhea then it's not an accident, but a "not completely house trained" instead. When you get him re-trained then leave some rules for your mom to adhere to. |
Thank You All!! thank you to everyone who had time to give me some advice. I feel it is best to re-train him.:aimeeyork thanks again!!!! |
urinating on the bed I have the same problem with my 5 month old s**t-zhu/chihuaha mix. When he first came home he peed almost every night on the bed. For the past month he's been fine and I figured he was done with that...nope last night peed on the end of the bed! I was soooooooooooooo mad. I don't know what to do....I've been told they don't like to relieve where they sleep so why does he keep doing it???? |
