She Bites lol Okay, well, Last time I posted about Missy biting on furinture or anything hard because we realized that she is teething, so we bought her more than enough toys for that issue, and she stopped. Well, my dad allows Missy to bite on his hand for play time, but I've come to believe that she thinks it's okay now, so she loves biting us LOL... I seriously have to video tape her doing this. When we are walking around the house, she'll follow us sometimes and bite on our pants.... and yes sometimes on our legs. Missy is a little devil because she knows where she can find fatness on the body, so she bites it there. She has bit my butt, 2 times.... it kinda hurt, a lil pinch, and she recently bit my moms butt. She bit my breast one time.... LOL yes she finds the right spots. She'll bite when she is palying aggressively, or when she is mad at us. How can I put a stop to this? lol She won't stop when you shout No, or stop... none of that, she'll just continue to bite. What other techniques can I try on her when she bites? Lately, we've been bring my sisters guitar down (it's black) and play it infront of Missy, because she is very afraid of it... but we don't want to always bring it down to scare her away LOOLL.... and plus once the guitar is gone, she'll forget about it and bite again. Doggie training is out of the picture for now, since we are tight on money right now. |
Just tell your dad or anybody to stop playing like that with her and keep telling her NO, in a firm way or time out for her. |
I agree I would have your dad stop playing with her like that, at least until she learns its not ok to bite. Reagan is about 3 now and when we play rough she doesn't bite. She uses her mouth and her teeth will touch my hand but she doesn't bite down. With her and our last puppy(a bloodhound) whenever they would bite we would say "oww" like it really hurt and they would back off b/c they didn't want to hurt us. But I'm thinking they must have been a bit older then b/c I can't really imagine and younger puppy understanding that they are hurting you and understanding that this isn't something they want to do. So nothing I've said helps sorry. I would have your dad stop for now though. Continue with a firm no and maybe clap your hands real loud just to startle her and get her attention. Also I know some people do the rolling them over on their back thing. I have never done this, not because of any reason in particular I just haven't ever needed to I guess. But you can search through a few threads and read about it. I've also read where people would hold the nose and say no as well. Whatever you chose the most important part is be consistant, don't let her get away with it even once. |
umm, sorry i forgot to mention: my DAD stopped doing that. he allowed her to bite his hand because he knew she was still teething, and plus... it never hurt him lol. anyways thanks for your advices. I clap my hands, i do the hwole firm NO... still doesn't work ... hahaha, anyways I hope she'll stop soon... it doesn't really hurt though... but i'd rather have her stop. I'll see what I can do. We always did the whole "ouuuu".... everything we've tried... but since my dad allowed her to bite his hand when she was much younger she thinks its ok. Just thought someone would have some good technique I can try... but it's ok :) |
