we all feel your pain. if you look thru the training forum here, you will see how so many people come here for this advise. i am sorry i don't have any advise for you. i have a 7month and 10month old who still is not potty trained. i am a stay at home mom and i catch them all of the time, say no, place them outside and tell them to pee or poo and i praise them for doing it. i have had two train with in two weeks. so i can't say what to do but to keep trying. it appears from everything i have read, it can take up to 9 months to a year b/4 some of them will get the hang of it. good luck to you. |
Consistency I would have to say that what worked for Lexi is consistency. It took her about 6 months to really get the potty training down. I realized that in the beginning I didnt really have her on a good routine. Just took her out whenever...used pee pads...put her in her crate at night. But no routine. Once I started to take her out at the same time in the morning, same time later in the afternoon, and same time at night, she really got the hang of it. What also really helped was making sure she new that peeing inside was a NO-NO! Stern and loudly, I would tell her NO:mad: ! when I caught her peeing. But My new lil guy Nico, really seems to be following Lexi's lead. He now learned the routine. And even though I have pee pads for him to use, he has learned that its waaay nicer to pee and poop outside and get a nice walk:D , than to do it inside. So he will hold it as long as possible before using the pee pads. Make the walks fun! I let them socialize with all the dogs in the neighborhood. They just LOVE their walks. :p |
:animal36 I think they are like children...they all develope at different rates.:animal36 Just continue to be consistant and it will happen. |
