Constant Barking My yorkie boy Vash barks practically non-stop when we go out. He barks when he running, he barks when he chases his sister Sango, he barks when he's chasing me in the park. I don't think its aggressive or anything, he just likes to bark. He's a very vocal little booger. Any thoughts on how this can be corrected? |
I wish, a few months ago Vinnie discovered his vocal chords, now he sets himself up to bark. He places a toy in an exact location on the floor so he can get on the couch and bark at it! If we pick it up and give it to him he either drops it or places it back in that spot so he can continue barking at it! I'm at wits end, tried everything I could think of, if i discover anything I will let you know, in the meantime, good luck!! |
i cant stop lexi either |
Nearly got the barking controlled!!! Nearly that is.....we saw a professional trainer on TV that uses a horn, like on a bike, to break dogs from agression and barking, so we're trying it ...got the horn at Walmart for about $5, and it seems to scare the S*IT outta her and she stops barking....people coming into the yard or to the door was our biggest problem, now I just carry the horn and she behaves when we go walking......Just an Idea......:D |
That horn idea is great and one I have not heard of before. I am going to get one |
what's the horn like? just a regular horn like the one for bikes? |
The thing is it's not agression barking. He's just barks. |
Mine do that too, it is embarrassing  Like when we go to my G-daughters softball game, and there is other dogs...like 10x their size  Rosi screeches loudly and Apollo barks like a mad man, like they want a piece of them... cant believe i havent been kicked out yet.....:( |
Here's the horn 1 Attachment(s) This was like $5 at Walmart....and really sounds pretty loud....sure gets Widget's attention.... |
I saw that same show where the trainer recommended using the bike horn. My two love to bark at anything that moves, and the doorbell drives them nuts. I've been using the water spray bottle and it worked for awhile, but now it's like, "Yawn, she's got the water bottle again." I'm gonna buy a bike horn and hope for the best! |
I have heard to use a sound to distract them...I like the horn idea. Some people suggested to put coins in a soda can and shake it to keep them quiet. I've never tried it...don't know if it would work or not. The one thing I do, is simply tell him to lay down..and he will for awhile and be still...but it doesn't last long and he's off running and barking out the windows again. Try the bike horn...$5.00 it's worth a try. |
