Peeing on his legs and marking! I have a 6 1/2 month boy who has never lifted his to pee - yes, he still squats. Lately his pee has been spraying all over his front legs. How do I get him to lift his leg? My other pee question - lately he's been marking :shocked7q Whenever i catch him in the act or find a puddle, I've been extremely stern (I give him a pat on the behind and crate him for at least an hour) but it doesn't seem to bother him, because he keeps peeing in the house. He's scheduled for his neutering on June 15th and I'm hoping that it will help fix the problem. Will it? In the meantime, what can I do to get him to stop? |
Im no expert but I would assume that an hour is too long. he dosent even know why he is in there after a few minutes if not seconds. I also dont think the patting may help because he may start peeing in secret spots so you wont catch him. As far as squating. I actually dont mind that my boys squat. they are both almost 2, when they pee with the leg up the tend to pee on each other trying to pee in the same spot. . so i incourage that they squat. These lil guys are tuff to potty train so you just gotta hang in there. there are many posts on this exact matter so you can do a search of how other people have dealt with it. good luck |
My little boy used to scent mark in the house. We got passed it by scolding him when we caught him doing it. It took a few weeks but he doesn't do it anymore. We adopted him at 14 years old. Don't do it when you find a puddle. It is kind of too late. However both of mine know even hours later that they have done it so its not always true that they don't know they've done it a few seconds, minutes later. |
