Can someone please advise? Hi... My puppy is now 12 weeks old. Potty training has been okay with her so far, but she will not go #2 on the papers whatsoever. I tried wiping some of it on the pad, but she still won't go there! Also, she has been peeing wherever she feels like lately. If I were to confine her to the kitchen, I know she will go pee on the pads, but won't she still poo elsewhere in the kitchen? I don't expect any miracles because she is so young, but I would at least like to see her attempt to make #2 in the pads. It's kinda getting annoying to wake up to little brown smelly surprises every morning! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
Perhaps confine her to a smaller space at first until she does go on the pad. Expand the area as she starts to get better. At the beginning my Holly used to do that too. So I used two pads and automatically she urinated in one and pooped in the other. Holly is 6 months and still has some accidents. They do regress at times but I think consistency is key. It sounds silly but positive reinforcement always help. I jump up and praise her to no end. Now I don't have to so much but I did do that at first. I really hope it helps. Otherwise do a search cause there are some really good thread on training. Good Luck. |
I confined mine to the kitchen also, but I had several pads all over the room. When I found out the spot Max liked to go poo the most I kept 1 there. Slowly moving it to the spot I wanted. And then finally to the lanai in the potty tent. Lots of praise & a favorite treat when he went to the spot. He now comes & gets me when he does, he loves me getting excited or maybe he loves the yogurt drops more. |
Thanks for the advice. I will try that tonight. I was thinking of outside training her, but the Canadian winters are just so cold. If anyone else has some more indoor potty training advice, please lemme know! I need all the help I can get right now!!! |
Poop Tent? What is a poop tent? Do you use it inside or out? Thanks! |
