Piddle everywhere I kept thinking my dogs would outgrow this, but I guess it's hopeless. I've a 4 year old female, Gracie, who pees on everyone's shoes the minute they walk in the door (including mine). She does it out of excitement, but it's SO embarrassing. Now we have a new male puppy, Avery, who is almost 6 months old and he does the same thing! Gracie piddles a puddle and Avery sprays it everywhere as they both wiggle with excitement to see someone. I can't believe we now have TWO who do it! Is there anything we can do or are we doomed to mopping the floors and apologizing to those who now have wet sneakers? |
Oh my! I sure wish I had some advise for you on this but I don't. I can truly understand how it could be a problem at times and embarressing when company arrives. Have you by chance asked a professional dog trainer or such to get advise or search the web? I have never run into this with a Yorkie, however I had a Golden Retriever who did this. (submissive pee). She too never outgrew it. When we moved and gave her away I received a card about a year later from the new owner. She sent a picture of our Golden with blue ribbons won in some avents but said she still continued to pee submissively??? It seems odd that your new pup Avery is doing the same? I wonder if this trait is picked up by another dog, for instance Avery learning it from Gracie. ???? I just don't know  |
Hi, My little Lexus just started doing this also.I took her to a friends house and her papillon was playing kinda aggressively and I notice she did a little trickle on the floor.Ever since that day when we have guess or if she's scared of something, she would pee alittle. If we held her than she won't do it on us. Sorry,I have no advice but I do know what your going through.Let's hope they grow out of it.Thank god she doesn't do it to me or the family member or that would really be a problem. |
Have you tried the cute panties with the pads? Chai wears these because she piddles when she gets excited too. They make whole outfits so the panties match the dress or shirt. They look so cute and it takes all the stress out of potty training. Hefner wears a bellyband under his t-shirt. |

I've not really thought about that. Doesn't that encourage them to go in their panties? Are they absorbant enough to hold urine? She hates it when she's in heat. Would my male try to get a belly band off? |
