Codysmom, If this is a brand-new behavior (sounds like it is), I would want to investigate FIRST what might have changed. I wouldn't assume that where you have him sleeping is at fault. Are there any new stresses in the household this week? How are you? Is your mood okay? Yorkies can be very sensitive to stress in their loved ones. He may be uncomfortable leaving you when YOU are in distress. Is there any reason why HE may be in more distress this week? Has he been in trouble? Has his normal routine been changed? Also, you might check his environment. Joey recently started barking and breaking down the gate at night (he sleeps in the laundry room except on special occasions). When I had to get up in the middle of the night myself, I discovered that the hard water softener was making an awful racket. It's in the laundry room. No wonder he wanted out of there! IOW, do some detective work first! |
