Good for You Yes, yes, yes you did the right thing. Scared dogs don't need to be rough-handled to show them who's boss. They need to learn to trust that you will do what's right for them. Respect is a better control over your dog than fear. My yorkie x was put on a choke collar by a vet so he could show me how I needed to sort him out. We swapped vets naturally!! |
It's too bad you didn't know to ask her what her training technique is. She got off easy at your house. If she had done that to one of my dogs, she would have found out just how that felt!! |

I just had a trainer here to work on some fear issues with my little baby and not only did she NOT use a collar but she didn't even want to use the harness. She did everything with the tone of her voice and her hands and her posture. She would nudge him with her hands if she wanted him to go in a certain directions. She greatly helped him and by the end of the session they were good friends. |
