Bruizer is LOCKED up! This morning I got up to make my hubby his lunch and send him off to work. I let Bruizer and my sheltie out to go potty (outside) then after about 15 minutes let them back in. Whils I was make my hubbys lunch I noticed bruizer going over to the spot infront of my chair where he poops everyday. He was spinning in a circle getting ready to poop so I rushed him outside and he just stood on the porch. So after 20 minutes of him sitting on the porch I brought him in and put him in his crate! How long should I leave him in for before seeing if he will go poop outsdie? He's allmost housebroken its just the pooping in front of my chair in the livingroom INSTED of outside! I can't get him to do his # 2 outside no matter how long I leave him out! He never does it anywhere else only right in front of my rocker! HELP! |
Get some of the poop and put it outside in a corner where you want him to do it. Then make sure you show it to him. He'll get the idea! |

Bring his food over to that spot and feed him there. He will start to associate that spot with eating and not want to poop there anymore. Does he have an ex-pen? Maybe you could pee pee pad train him. Just put some of his poop on the pad, so he can get his sent, and he should start to use the pad. Keep him in his ex-pen (if he has one) until he goes poop, and then praise him like silly when he goes. Hope that helps!:) They can be strong willed, can't they?;) |

Aston had the problem with going outside too at first. I live in an apartment so am training him with wee-wee pads but while on walks I would like him to go. He always used to hold it the entire time and then come do his business when he got back home. Now he is pretty good about going outside, I don't know what changed his mind about it though. Sorry I couldn't be more help but I'm sure your dog will catch on. Good luck! |

I think hes pooping in the same place by your chair because he can smell the poop and thinks its ok... You gonna have to nutralize that area really good so all the smell is gone. Otherwise he will just keep going there. JMO:D |
if you keep doing what your doing he is going to eventually have to poop outside LOL then he'll get free roam of the house and a cookie. I'd keep doign what your doing and eventually when he finally gives up and poops, he'll see that he'll be allowed inside free roam time instead of being put back in the crate. i used the methods on sylvan's site. its very much like what i was going to do in teh first place but has some extra tips. Keep doing what you're doing, but he can probably smell the spot in front of your chair and that's what makes him keep going back there. Give the spot a good cleaning with something like baking soda and vinegar so that he can't smell anything anymore. When I first got Jake and was training him, he would sometimes go on a throw rug that I have in the living room. I gave it a good cleaning, and then I periodically sprayed a little Bitter Apple on it. He never used it again. Good luck! |
