Pet Beds I know a lot of us use crates for our pups at night....maybe in the same room, or maybe not.... but... I was wondering if anyone has actually trained their pup to sleep in a pet bed in the bed room area....and to poop in a different room. I want a really cute pet bed so bad! But I know Bentley wont use it *at least not yet*. He's still sleeping in his crate. I would love to get him sleeping in a pet bed in my room at night....if i could just get him trained to walk into the kitchen to go.....* Anyone trained their pup to sleep in one room and go poo in another? Do they just stay in their bed and wait until you wake in the morning to go? How old were they when you trained them to do this? Thanks so much! |
Well...mine don't sleep in their beds, they sleep in mine:D And of course their pads are in the other room. Vixxen will wake up and jump off the bed and wait at the door for us to let her out to go to the kitchen and pee. I am a very light sleeper, so I hear her little feet on the hardwood floor! |

really? how old is she? did you start off having her in a small area? or did you give her free roaming when you got her? |
She's 3 yrs old now. She's almost always slept with us...Of course she woke me up more frequently when she was little! She started off in an xpen but I have no will power and wanted her to cuddle with me so I spoiled her early on  Truffles is 6 months old and she sleeps with us too...all night. She hasn't really gotten down in the middle of the night by herself so I'm not sure if I could trust her to know to go to the kitchen or not? Like I said, I'm a light sleeper so I will just take her to the xpen myself if she wakes up... |
Bunny started off sleeping in a little crate beside my bed.I positioned it so she could always see me if she woke up.Now she sleeps on top of my duvet cover with her own special blanket to cover her.She has a little bed in the livingroom that she uses during the day.She hasn't had to use her crate since she was about 9 months old.She wakes up at 5 am every morning to be let out.She is just over 3 years old now.:wavey: :littleang |
Pixie sleeps in her bed on my bed and I have a ramp on the side if my bed so she just gets down and uses the wee wee pad on the one side of the room when she has to. |
