That's exactly what I thought. My point is that it is a personal decision where your baby sleeps. The thing is they will still be sleeping whether they are on your bed or in a crate. If you did have him sleep in a crate, that still wouldn't be a reason to have to give him up to a rescue.

Again, I think you are doing great. Not everyone is going to care for their babies in the same manner. If you know that you are doing your best and you love him, that's what really matters.

This is not my opinion this is experience and knowledge. Reading books about dogs and how to train them isn't usually the best thing because they generalize it and it is not breed specific. Most trainers aren't going to tell you that yorkies are the hardest to housebreak because they want to make money. I wish that this was a fact but it is. Yorkies come into rescue mainly because they aren't housebroken. It breaks my heart but it is the truth. I believe crate training will work but for other breeds not yorkies. I'm not trying to be harsh at all. I'm just trying to give you some information that is not out there. My yorkie does all the commands sit, sit up, roll over, stay, lay down, fetches, and even plays basket ball at let in her own at least. I have trained her to my best and she still has accidents that is just what comes with the package. So for yorkies gettin a pen is the best choice

How harsh is that honestly? I am sorry but some of us do have full time jobs and our whole lives do not only revolve around our puppies! I do love my Yorkie to death and I would never give him up for no reason...he is used to my routine and he is the happiest little fellow you can meet...just because you have someone to support you and your Yorkie does not mean that the rest of us are in the same boat...I do have to work so that I can afford to keep my baby and myself happy...what you say is very inconsiderate and mean! i think you owe an apology to the rest of us who actually works! :mad:

In your opinion a pen is the best choice. In my opinion the crate is the best choice for my Sam.

Also not all books are general, the book that I have is Yorkie Specific and guess what? It talks about crate training, not pen.

I dont know any dog breed that is easily housebroke. All take time, consistency, and patience.
