I know this stuff exists... But I can't remember what it's called. There's a spray or mist out there that settles dogs down. If they're having seperation anexity attacks or just won't settle down due to some unforseen issues thay're having. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and where can I find some. I guess more important is...does it work?? I have a very dear friend that is having problems with her guy and is thinking about re-homing him. I thought if this stuff worked, maybe it would be the answer to her problem!! Please help if you can. Thanks, Suz |
Rescue Remedy is the one I've heard of. I haven't used it personally, so I have no experience with it, but you can get it at several pet stores. |
Thank you. I'll look it up!! Suz |
I have never heard about a spray or mist, but there are drops for anxiety that you can buy. I have used the herbal ones from the vet for my Katie who does not like riding in the car. I think they help a little but not sure how much. Is this a spray like an air freshener? Do you spray it in their mouth? If you find it let me know how it works I might be interested in it for Katie. Thanks |

I have a mist from Aromadog call Chill-Out. 1-508-892-9330 It has chamomile, lavendar, marjoram and "other" essential oils. It really smells like lavendar. My dogs run around crazy for a few minutes (like they do with ANYTHING that has a scent:) ) then it does seem to help. It's not a miracle cure and it doesn't take the place of training, but it helps a bit. I bought mine at a boutique near me - I'm sure you can find it on line cause I've seen their other products online. I have also used some of their other products and love them. They use natural products. Good luck! |
I bet what you are looking for is DAP - Dog Appeasing Phenome. It is supposed to replicate the smell that a lactating "bitch" (female dog, you know!) gives off that is soothing to her young. My vet here in England recommends and sells it. Not sure if it has to come from a vet in the States or if you might can find it online. Rescue Remedy - an herbal product - can be used at the same time. Can I ask - what sort of problems are they having? |
rescue remedy is is an oral application, right? |
Cant remember the name either, but i bought it from the Vet, and i ended up taking it back ,it had a 30 day guarantee as it was $30.00 Rosi gets real nervous in Truck. When i took it back they said it works better on Cats. Try it mabey it works for you ! |

Rescue Remedy is all natural, comes in a very small bottle with dropper and you use only about 4 drops in their mouth about 45 minutes before a flight, trip or anything that could make them anxious. It calms them really well. |
I've heard of this product from happy tails, not quite sure how well how it works http://www.happytailsspa.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.18/.f |
It's called Comfort Zone. It comes in a spray or in a plug-in, room freshener style. We bought the plug-in style, and I'm not sure if it works. I don't see a huge difference, altho the first couple of days we had it plugged in our puppy did seem sleepier. But she may have gotten accustomed to it or something, since I don't see her doing that now. |
