Sit and Sit Pretty What exactly is the difference? |
1 Attachment(s) Usually "Sit" just means put your rear on the ground in the spot you were initially commanded to sit. "Sit Pretty" is often used when you teach your dog to "sit" and then you want them to pull their front paws off the ground and balance themselves. (see photo attached) |

Ahhhh...Sofie, you are adorable:) |
Very cute pics! |
how did you guys get your yorkie to do that? i try but he's so excited that he'll start jumping up or just stand up if i try to put him into that position |
My Gypsy did this right for the first time today! :D She looked adorable too! I got a video of her doing it to as evidence incase she never does it right again! lol I did it by getting her to sit and then slowly moving the treat back towards her forehead and upwards so that she has to lean back and then she lifts her paws... |
Aww Sophie is so sweet! She just looks like she is smiling and enjoying sitting pretty! Katie does this pretty well but Max just insists on standing up. Katie learned to roll over and now she just wants to do that allllllll the time! :D |
OMG! Sophie is SO cute!!! Teagan does a trick called "Ballerina"...if I hold a treat over her head, she will sit pretty and then turn in a circle on her hind legs to get it. |
I'd love to get some tips on teaching them to "sit pretty". Dougal "takes a walk" on his hind legs, and Dixie "dances" by doing a pretty pirouette. But I can't get the butt to stay on the ground. |
ahhhh...that is so sweet. I'll have to try sitting pretty with Punkin. She dances for treats so hopefully she won't get them mixed up. |
Sophie, you are a doll...your sit pretty is so cute with the added smile! |
