Puppy question I have a question... We just got our puppy and he HATES his crate he cried ALL night and we have a 4.5 month old so we cant have Boston waking up Collin... So we put a baby gate and put him in the kitchen is that a bad habit to start? He seems to be fine with it so far... cries for 3-5 mintues and stops... Also he isnt eating very much what can I give him besides Nutri Cal something I may have here already... Thanks! |

I think it is fine gating him rather than crating. I ket mine in Xpens and they still had fits. As far as eating you might try mixing cottage cheese in the food. Canned food or baby food. When I first brought Jewels home and she wouldnt eat I gave her gerber meat sticks |
What kind of baby food? |
Well I gave Jewels mainly the meat sticks for toddlers. I also gave her the liquidy strained baby food in turkey and chicken flavor |
Ok I dont have any of that here either my son is 4.5 months and started today on solids but none are meat so Ill have to go to the store if when he wakes up he doesnt eat still... Thanks so much! :) |
Congrats on the new puppy by the way. It seems like everyone is getting new pups right now and its making me want one |
Rockie HATED the crate as well, and frankly we never got him back to it. He would pee and poop all over and then roll in it (when we kept downsizing his crate). I finally gave up and gated him in the kitchen. That worked for us and when Rockie become potty trained, we gave him the free reign of the house. He only goes into his crate when he wants to (we leave the door open) or if he's being punished. He does crawl in sometimes--for some reason he likes to be in places that only have one entrance in which he can see (to make sure no one sneaks up on him??? don't really know). Good luck! :animal36 |
