Mama_to_Rex | 02-28-2007 10:31 AM | I had Rex in his crate from day one and that's the only place he slept. (He'll be 6 months on March 20th) I tried potty pads-- he ate them. I tried dog litter... he sunk in it b/c he was sooo small at first. But, to make a long story short-- since mid January he's been able to hold it while he's in his crate. What I did at first was put his crate near my bed and he'd wake me up at night if he had to go. After I did that, we haven't had anymore crate accidents. Now I've moved his crate back up front and he holds it through the night, I wake him up and we go outside to potty, he comes inside and he eats, and then gets to play for about an hour, I'll take him out again to pee, then I go to work. He holds it all day while I'm gone. Then whoever gets home first takes him out again for a long walk and he'll usually potty then. We leave food down for the entire evening. I take him outside about every 45 min and sometimes he'll poop before he goes to sleep for the evening and sometimes he won't. GOOD LUCK! |
