No Bark Devices I just ordered one of those ultrasonic pet safe no bark devices to keep at the office...I take both my babys to work with me and everytime a customer comes in Gucci the smallest one goes crazy barking. We tried the no bark device and it doesn't seem to bother Taz ...but Gucci will run and hide in a corner and shake for an hour after it sounds off...Why is she doing this? Could the ultasonic sound be hurting her ears or is she just scared? It says it is completly safe for animals...Please help!!!! I want her to stop barking...but I don't want to see her scared to death or hurting!!! What do yall think I should do? |
Yes, it hurts their ears. That's how it works, unfortunately. |
maybe try one of the spary collars? or train them to shush when you say so |
please dont use that device |

I didn't know that it could really hurt their ears...It only says that it is an unpleasent sound but that it is completly safe. I've tried everything and this was my last resort. But if it makes Gucci act this way, I'm not going to use it anymore. Thanks for the responses. |
I haven't tried the spray collars...Do they seem to work? |

Spray Bottle Cured Widget of Barking Thank goodness.....I read on here about using it, and haven't thought about using one for years, but have in the past.....at first she shook like crazy so I didn't use it, the other day I pulled out the bottle and put it on the counter so she could see it, and WA LA,,,,,,I have now a NO BARKING DOG..... Miracle of Miracles.......:D |
i was also going to suggest a spray bottle! I have not personally had to use one, but in puppy class, the trainer uses one and recommends it :D |
