OH NO.....humping Cody is 4 months now and has all his shots. we gave him a little garfield doll to chew on and i noticed that he started to hump the doll. not all the time but just occassionally. is this something i should be concerned about right now? thanks    :( |
I am having the same problem!!! My Snickers is only 11 weeks today and he is humping me and my boyfriend ocassinally. They say its a sign of domincance, but I just make it known that he is not the boss of us. I dont know what to do about it either. I am also looking for help in this too. Thanks Mommy to Snickers:eek: |
humping Be careful with humping. My dog threw out his back because he went at it so hard. The vet said not to let him do it at all. He also said they can really hurt themselves. I had to throw away all my dogs large stuffed animals. |

Unfortunately, codysmom, this is very normal male behavior. If you are planning to have your pup neutered, you might talk to your vet about when is the best time to do it. |

humping Of course it feels good. We got a big kick watching Gizmo's feet come off the ground while humping. Unfortunately, he had to be taken to the vet, put on muscle relaxers, x-rays, it cost us $150.00 I will NEVER let him do it again. He doesn't hump anything again. And it is a dominance thing. |
Tell him NO Bebe used to do this too but I just tell him NO-its not nice and he has stopped. About the only thing he has listened to...LOLhahahah |
When I got Chewy, he was 4 1/2 months old. My husband bought him a toy that was about the same size as him, and he would hump it, so I took that toy away from him. After that, he did it every once in a while and I would alway tell him no, and he would stop. I got him neutered at about 9 months and he hasn't done it once since. |
i've got a 3 1/2 year old FEMALE named Molly, and we notice that when she thinks no one is looking she grabs her toy in her mouth and lays down as flat as she can get and goes howdy. If i look at her and say her name she just stares at me like I'M the crazy one. Is it normal for a female to hump like a male? Just a side note, when she actually does pee outside, she lifts her leg to do so, i have a seriously confused puppy |

Princess lifts her leg to pee and humps My Princess lifts her leg to pee and she humps also. I thought at first I was seeing things when she started to lift her leg but she was and she humps. I tell her to stop and she gets sad and walks off. |
The boys hump... sigh. I guess it's something to watch for, neutered or not. Pepper was always humping something about his size or bigger (his toys, never attempted to hump people). He got neutered at 6 months, is now almost 9 months and still, occassionally, humps. His big toys are put away. |
