Tetley's Going to School! Today I signed Tetley up for Family Dog classes! He starts on Feb 17th! He'll be 5 months old when the classes start. I'm so excited! I had been wanting to take him for formal training but the cost of classes was a little daunting ($200 for a 6 week course  ). Well, I talked to my mom last night and since my birthday is in mid-February, she offered to pay for his classes (or at least part of it) as my birthday present. Yay! :D He's doing great and doesn't have any behavioural issues that make me NEED to take him, I just want to give him the best opportunity to learn. He's already learned a few commands like sit, give, and fetch. In the classes he'll learn Heel - Sit - Stay - Come - Down - Attention - Jumping up - Stay with Distractions - Leave It. It's all taught with clickers. I've been considering training him to be a therapy dog when he's older so this will really get him off to a good start. I hope he's a good little student! :) |
I bet he gets straight A's!! And what a nice mom you have, she get's an "A" too, in my book :p Hope ya'll have lots of fun, bet he'll be the star of the class, definitely the cutest one there, anyway!!:D |
We put Ty in school when he was 10weeks old.......and I will say that yorkies are teahers pet, his teacher loved him and she used to have to catch herself paying more attention to him then the others. Like I said Ty was 10 weeks old and learned sit right away he was in the class with a grat dane, a boston, a couple of hurding dogs and he TY was one of a kind...........people would stop in the middle of the store and look in the class and not to brag, but you will soon find out they all stopped to look at the yorkie.......they are veyr smart and very social,Ty is 5months and still remebers most eveyrthing.....you will have fun, we are signing him up for the next class cause he loved it..................keep us up to date..........:) |
